Hmm...the wireless mouse one makes a tiny bit of sense in that it needs to be connected to the computer (or in some cases connected with the base which is plugged into the computer) but not physically (sorry, I'm a bit tired right now and can't think of the correct way of explaining it). I have had to have my husband help me figure out why my wireless mouse/keyboard weren't "connecting". Stupid bluetooth POS.

Anyway, one of my favorite IT problems is when my mother-in-law was trying to get hubby (over the phone) to help her get the scanner to work. He asked if it was plugged in, she said yes. After half an hour of trying to make it work he asked her to look and make sure it was plugged in. There was a long, drawn out silence, then a very quiet "oh". And this is a woman who has her masters in computer science and is currently working in the IT field herself.

@Carl:

I know what you mean. Most of the worst drivers that I see are women, usually on cell phones. Although one recently was driving with a yellow Labrador on her lap.

Before anyone gets mad at me for being sexist, know that I am a woman.

Oh yeah, and when I used to ride my bicycle, I was one of the courteous riders who also used hand signals.

I am proud to say that I can change a tire, battery, oil, and most other basic maintenance items on my car.

However, if I am stranded on a busy highway with a flat tire (especially at night) you better damn well believe I'm going to make use of my insurance's complimentary roadside assistance for my own safety (and since I rarely drive anywhere without my son, his safety).

Reminds me of when our insurance company required us to take a health survey for hubby to keep his premium down (required by the company he works for...very illegal the way they did it but there wasn't much we could do) and the end result for me was that I was morbidly obese and should be drinking a glass of wine every day.

I was eight months pregnant at the time. This survey obviously didn't take that into account even though I selected the "pregnant" option.

Yes, I'm overweight, but not THAT much overweight, and I'm short. I'm the type of person that really does have big bones, wide hips, and big boobs. I've got big feet and wide shoulders, too. My BMI has always indicated I am obese even when I wore a size 6. *sigh* I miss my hourglass figure. oops, I'll stop rambling now...

"I really hope we don’t end up wearing corsets and full-length underwear again, though."

Hey, I like my bloomers worn under a skirt. Very comfortable. In Texas heat they keep my legs cool.

And when I spent a weekend in Wisconsin after a recent blizzard, them full length longjohns came in mighty handy.

Very interesting...I scored 98.8 all together (missed 2 questions total). The first speed limit question got me because in Texas you are not required to drive slower during inclement weather. The TX driver's handbook states that speed must be adjusted so accidents are avoided, but it is implied that if you can drive the posted limit and avoid an accident you are driving legally. Also down here instead of "Hazardous Material" signs we have "HC" aka "Hazardous Cargo". That one had me confuzzled but I still got it right.

The other one I got wrong was the "forward traffic can go on either side of the obstruction" with two arrows pointing at a right and left angle but no image of an obstruction. I've never seen a sign like that before...the ones I've seen have a black "obstruction" between the arrows.

When my mom used to work at Walmart, there was a guy who stood at the intersection in front of the store every day asking for money because he had no job. The store manager (he was a really great guy, I miss him) walked out there one day and offered the guy a job on the spot. The guy declined, saying he made more money panhandling. Later, he walked a couple of blocks to where he parked his BMW and changed into a suit and tie and drove off.

I have had the fleeting thought of standing under an overpass with my baby in my arms...cause I'm so damned poor and gas is so freaking expensive....but then common sense and my sense of morality takes over.

My 2 month old son can make two distinct sounds come out of his throat when he's upset....sounds like he's possessed. He also sleeps with his eyes open and all you see are the whites. Creepy. :D
