Courageous Grace's Comments

I think it's a very good thing for parents to have accounts. IMO, good parents keep an eye out for their children's activities, especially online, for the kid's own safety.

My 11 month old son isn't old enough for the computer yet (although he tries), but I would definitely want to know if he was involved in something illegal or dangerous (like planning to meet a complete stranger he met online) when he is older. I'm not the kind of parent who overprotects, but being vigilant is a good thing.

At every hibachi grill I've been to (they all do the volcano trick but I've never seen it with soy sauce "lava") the chef then cuts up the onion to use in the stir fry.

The best trick I've seen a hibachi chef do is flipping a raw egg into his hat unbroken and leaving it there the entire time he prepared food.

This year is full of firsts, first Christmas in our new house, first Christmas with the baby, first Christmas having relatives come HERE instead of us going there, my first Christmas as a hostess (and mommy).

Unfortunately I can't climb onto the roof attach lights to the eves no matter how much I want to. 2 story house, no ladder.

I think it's rather amusing. I used to have a shi'tsu terrier mutt mix...I think the terrier mutt part of her gave her brains because she was a lot smarter than this. A cat I used to have would flop down in the middle of the kitchen floor and expect me to spin her around until she got dizzy, got up, and walked sideways (usually into a cabinet). She'd also crawl into a plastic bag (like a walmart bag), let me hang it from a doorknob, and "attack" my finger as I traced along the side of the bag until she tore a hole and jumped out.

Sometimes when animals do dumb things like that, they do it on purpose. If my cat didn't like to be spun around or hang in a bag to attack a shadow, she wouldn't put herself in the situation. Now that she's older she won't put up with stuff like that (and would probably bite/claw you if you tried).

One thing that gave fruitcake a bad name is people would make it with citrus peel. That gives it a tart, sour taste.

Good fruitcake is sweet, and very rummy. My mother and grandmother used to make the absolute best, but they had to start it in September to have it ready by Christmas.

I tried to breastfeed, and was actually quite good at it. Then I needed to take a medication when my son was 2 months old that could be transmitted through breastmilk and was known to be bad for a baby's development. So I had to switch to formula. So no, we can't all breastfeed. I wish I could. With my next child I plan on it as long as possible until they are weaned to solids. Unfortunately it can't always happen the way we want it.

I agree with everyone else who is saying how much of a jerk this guy seems to be. Even as a stay at home mom who rarely goes out anywhere, I still spend $ every week. Baby's gotta eat. Fresh produce only lasts so long. Bills all the time.

If only Walmart had this in an infant's size...

I found adorable pj's for my son to wear for Halloween, but couldn't find a "batmask" anywhere. I agree, ridiculous for adults, kinda cute for kids if it came in a kids size.

My grandmother has a cane made out of bovine testes. It's a very beautiful translucent amber color and looks like a gnarled twisted piece of driftwood. The only man (besides the one who gave it to her) I know who has ever been able to hold it and not throw it across the room the moment they discovered what it is was my husband.

An ex boyfriend of mine actually ran screaming out of the house. Chicken.

I'm like Bruno, kind of in between. On one hand I believe we should be good stewards of the earth, on the other I'm not going to go way out of my way to be overly PC with recycling.

I recycle cans when possible (so glad the city we're moving to has a recycling program, my husband and I drink a LOT of soda), don't waste unnecessary water or energy, and try to make fewer trips in the car by getting most of my groceries at one place, one time a week (also good for my pocketbook).

But I'm not going to pay through the nose for bamboo floors (getting laminate because I have a baby), solar panels, or other fancy "green" stuff. Oh yeah, and I drive an SUV. When we have another kid I'm getting a bigger SUV (of the crossover variety. My current one is kinda small). You tree huggers can bite me :P
