Snakes . . . why did it have to be snakes? Because they're cute and funny. These snakes aren't really, but Bill Flowers's paintings of them are. He calls himself the Snake Artist.

And he deserves that name. He likes to get terrifyingly close to extremely dangeorus animals in order to sketch them. These include Australia's most venomous snakes, crocodiles, and Komodo dragons. You can tell from this video that he gets too close because is regularly attacked by his subjects.

I have no idea how he is still alive.

So I would prefer to get closer to Flowers's lovely paintings instead of their models. He adds them to famous works of art, including the Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's Starry Night, and Dali's Persistence of Memory. You can see more of them at Bored Panda.

Oliver's Travels is a travel company that specializes in providing family vacation villas. It now offers a new luxury service to guests who want a unique beach vacation experience: sandcastle butlers. At selected locations, Oliver's Travels hires sandcastle artists to compose their crafts exactly as their guests want them. The Daily Mail reports:

Blueprints will be drawn-up so the exact structure is brought to life. 

Then it will be down to the butlers to select the best quality sand, and the safest spot on the beach for the precious creation. 

Youngsters will even be able to assist the butler in creating their sandcastle.

Pictures taken of people while they’re riding on roller coasters end up looking pretty darn funny, which is why many coasters have an automatic camera set up to capture rider reactions.

These pictures then go up for sale in the gift shop, so theme park visitors can go home with a souvenir of their fun ride on that epic coaster.

But would you really want to look back on the moment you made this face?

Some people (and apparently dogs) have a tell- a physical tic or reaction that gives away their thoughts or feelings. For some it’s a cringe, or a guffaw, or even a flustered eye flitter and a sigh, but Denver the Guilty Dog’s tic is far more troublesome.

Every time Denver goes to growl or act threatening, an understandable reaction to his ear medicine, she starts sneezing.

So the new Suicide Squad movie is coming out soon, eh? It looks pretty (insert opinion here), and the internet really seems to care about this movie even if fans of the comic book series don’t.

Every year ESPN puts together an extremely revealing series of photos for their Body Issue that show what top athletes look like in the buff.

As always their photographers do an incredibly good job of showing the beauty of the physical forms while somehow managing to keep the pics SFW.

It’s not about the naughty bits here, it’s about seeing the human body in peak physical condition, and how the different muscle groups have been conditioned for the athlete’s sport of choice.

This year’s shoot includes Brittney Griner from the Phoenix Mercury, olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin, Bryce Harper from the Washington Nationals and the Indianapolis Colts offensive line, just to name a few.

Whether you admire the attractive physiques, admire the photographer's dedication to hiding the naughty bits, or recognize their value as art reference one thing's for certain- these are some mighty good looking pics!

To me, Comic Con is a lot like Christmas. I look forward to it all year round, but then when it arrives, I know I'll end up spending way too much money and running around frantically trying to complete everything I need to do before it's too late. That being said, Zeon and I did find plenty of time to get lots of great pictures of the cosplayers at the convention and here are a few of the best ones we spotted this year.

Lydia may not be happy to see Beetlejuice -especially when she magically appears in her red wedding dress, but I was sure happy to see the two of them.

These two adorable Vault Dwellers, portrayed by Jessica Nasserian and Gina Glenn, were ready to explore the wastes and were even ready to bribe strangers with custom-made Nuka Cola caps.

Comic Con might just be a bit of a wasteland too -I even stumbled upon a Mister Gutsy and a lovely woman in a pre-war dress offering up Sugar Bombs.

Then again, I also ran into Guile handing out American flag temporary tattoos and reminding kids that "winners don't use drugs" -so who knows what era we were in.

I love watching Joker and Harley from afar, but I sure wouldn't want to go to a sock hop with these two -who knows what trouble they'll cause?

Rebecca Millar’s daughter asked for a Black Widow doll. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find one locally and the cost of shipping one to her home in Australia was prohibitively high, so she made one. The doll was a huge hit, so she made more for her kid and others.

Millar has made them for a wide variety of fandoms, including DC, Marvel, and Star Trek. Pictured above are Uhura, Janeway, Dax, and Seven of Nine, all of whom, Millar sees as excellent role models for her daughter. You can see more of her dolls at her Facebook page.

Hannah of the food blog Bitter Sweet came upon some very high-grade baking chocolate and decided to put it to good use in this novel experiment. These inverted mint patties have a mixture of chocolate and corn syrup in the center with cocoa butter, sugar, and peppermint oil on the outside. She waited for the centers to harden, then dipped them in the coating twice to create this unusual and eye-catching treat.

This video captured by a diver in the Pacific shows one crawling along the ocean floor, presumably looking for sea carrots and sea lettuces, all while avoiding sea foxes.

This is Restraunt M. It’s a special restaurant in Tokyo that will be open for only one day. On that one day, you can get fairly standard food from the McDonald's menu. But it will be offered to you fine china, ornate silverware, and bleached linens. The table service will, of course, be far superior from that which you can find at your local burger joint. If I saw a great white shark trapped on the beach, I might have several responses, but none of them would involve picking it up and dragging back into the water. Fortunately for this shark, more daring and caring people were present at the beach on Chatham, Massachusetts on Monday. They found a 7 and ½ foot juvenile shark that had beached and was unable to return to the waters off Cape Cod.

Harbormaster Stuart Smith took over the rescue effort upon his arrival. He and his colleagues tied a rope to the shark and pulled it into the water. It was still sluggish, so they towed it out into deeper water. Greg Skomal, a biologist, put a tracking device on the shark before the rescuers released it. Animal wildlife officials will use it to monitor the shark's location.
