Cut a bunch of slits into a large marshmallow and put a chocolate inside of it so it is being forced open. Then close it, and put a band around it that will dissolve in hot liquid, like very thick gelatin or something sugary (might be slower). If you could find some pre-existing candy to use, or make the rings ahead of time, it could be done in less time than it takes to heat up milk.

As a boomer I remember what a treat it was to have a TV dinner. The fried chicken dinner was a real favorite. Turkey, gravy, corn and stuffing was popular. Anything that was already prepared in an aluminum foil dish was A-Okay with me! My family had TV trays so we could all eat in front of the tv. Now, I would never have allowed my children to eat this way. But then, hindsight...
AND you just had to sneak in a jello recipe, too? aarrgghhh!!!

Perhaps the interest rate was ridiculously high? Some lending facilities tend to do that to certain focus groups like minorities and the elderly, to name just 2. When my elderly parents wanted to take out a loan for some home improvements they were initially denied the loan. Later on they found a lender who would give them the loan but the interest rate was crazy. Usury laws be damned! My folks finally decided not to get a loan because of all the trouble/hassle they had gone through and they just couldn't justify the high interest rate.

"Still, for the life of me, I can't figure out why a 1998 Buick would cost that much." I agreed, but a quick search of Buicks 1997 to 2005 (in California) showed prices from $5-7 K. Amazing ability to retain value.

Usually, before the first frost we pick the green tomatoes and wrap them in newspaper and put them into a large paper grocery bag. They will slowly ripen over time and we have enjoyed wonderful ripe tomatoes well into February. My dad always grew way too many tomato plants but they never went to waste in our family. When I was expecting my 2nd child I craved tomatoes and ate a whole basketful in 1 day. I still can't believe I actually did that.

i watched this all the time as a kid. It frustrated me that the show was built in with a neat, namesake strategy twist option that I *never once* observed contestants to use. The idea of the 'double dare' was that a team confident in its *sole* knowledge of the answer could dare the other team to answer the question, with the result that if the other team could not answer the question and double-dared them back, the original team had two options: to take the "physical challenge" (which they always did), or to answer the question on the rebound for DOUBLE the original cash. I wouldn't be shocked if not a single team ever followed this strategy.
