From Columbia Encyclopedia:

Baal-zebub (b?'?l-z?'b?b) [Heb.,=lord of flies], a deliberate Hebrew distortion of the name of the god of Ekron in 2 Kings. In the Gospels of Mark and Luke, Beelzebul, the Greek form of the epithet Baal-zebul [Baal the Prince], is encountered. See Baal and Satan.

Not having grown up in the States, I didn't get a chance to watch Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. The two things I heard about him were 1) he was an ex-Seal sniper and 2) he had tattoos on his arms (that's why he always wore the cardigan sweater). I was quite miffed to find out that the two were just urban legends.

@Gerry: "Bull…. I’ve seen two-year-olds lie when they thought they were in trouble or they thought they could get another cookie/candy."

True, but the intent there is self-interest (to get out of trouble or for "ccokie" gain). The study purports to show that lying in the interest of others (though you can argue that ultimately it's also in the interest of self), begins at four.

@Joey: I looked it up and it said that Mercedes is a girl's name of Spanish origin, meaning "mercy." It is taken from the Virgin Mary (María de las Mercedes), meaning "Mary of Mercies".

I've repeated sooo many of Miss C's posts, so I'm tickled whenever she does the same :) You know, with over 12,000 posts on Neatorama, I don't remember what's been featured ...

I think it has a lot to do with how many bills you need to count. In many countries, cash is king but since the denomination is small, you need to carry lots of it to buy stuff. So counting methods evolve for speed.

I've seen people count money this fast in China: YouTube clip (accurately too!)

I agree with Lea on snails: pretty much all aquatic plants bought from stores will have snails. I used to treat the plants with potassium permanganate before putting it into my tank.

If you have a snail infestation, it's quite difficult to get rid of. For mild infestation you can float a piece of lettuce - snails will flock to the lettuce. Simply float new lettuce leaf every few hours or every day until you don't have snail anymore.
