I can't stand telemarketers. Nothing personal. I know that they are people too and I have never been one to shout obscenities at one. But messing with them is fun. Fact is, anyone that calls me at home has automatically lost a sale. I don't care how supercoolawesome and wonderful that product is. So, after accusing them of sleeping with my husband and posing as a telemarketer or something to that effect while hubby is laughing in the background in between earnest sounding denials, if they haven't hung up, I tell them to please take me off their list.

The flowery one was the most normal one of them all, and the only one I would wear if I had to wear one of those ten. I about died laughing at the loo hat and the cheese hat. Those women are... brave.

Gordon, she is presenting herself as a piece of meat, that's why we are being judgemental. Even if there is no guarantee of sex in the mix, it is highly implied, and that in and of itself is whorish behavior. Furthermore, as a single mother, putting herself out there the way she is is irresponsible and quite frankly, stupid.

Yeah, all the prostitution comments have been covered, so I'll just have to go with the tired but true, "That woman has no self respect." I mean, really, if you are going to sell yourself, do so on your own merits. If you feel you have to sweeten the deal with a house, then your self esteem is below the basement.

Here in the UK, there are many instances where young women are raised here, but are forced into arranged marriages, many times through deceit and physical force. If a woman cannot make the decision to follow through or back out for herself, then it's not an institution I have much respect for. I can see the arguments for it, and have even seen examples where it has worked out, but ultimately, if the young bride or groom don't want this for themselves, then they should be able to say so without repercussion. All too often, this is not the case.

"I thought the whole point of long nails was to show that you were so well off you dont need to do anything with your hands. "

Funny, I only had long nails when I was a corporate rodent. Now that I am a lady of leisure, I keep them short so that I can do fun stuff like racing cars and digging around in the garden.

I agree that the claim that the iPhone is sexist is stupid, but really, folks, how judgemental.

Uno no debe de cojerlo todo de mala forma cuando la gente comentan en las cosas que para ellos, no son normal. Este seƱor no es cosa rara para usted, master, pero la verdad es que esto no se ve todo los dia en otros lugares. Como dise mi Mami, cojelo con take it easy.

Pardon my horrid spelling and grammar, or lack of accents. I speak Spanish better than I write it, and sadly, it's my first language. *sigh*

See, GoShogun, this is the type of thing that make people roll their eyes when someone expects for the world to stop for them and for safety measures to be compromised and the majority to be inconvenienced. No one is saying that autism isn't serious, or that it's easy to raise an autistic child. No one is saying autistic kids need to be dramatically shut away. And quite frankly, it cheapens the whole debate to go on about denying people in wheelchairs ramps.

Flying is miserable as it is in this day and age. I don't think a flying tube full of people need to suffer delays, defying safety regulations, and a child's caterwauling tantrum whether he is autistic or not. If that mother had even an ounce of class, she would have taken herself and the kid off the flight without being asked. Autism is unpredictable, right? Well, she should not have counted on every flight going as well as his first, and now that she has this knowledge, she might want to look for other methods of transport, for her own sanity and everyone else's. We live in a society that caters to everyone that cries discrimination whether that cry is justified or not. Understanding is fine, but there are limits to that. Sorry the kid has autism. Sorry you have to deal with it as a parent. Ultimately, though, it's not my problem or anyone else's. This situation went beyond the limits of patience and understanding.

I didn't realize that society expected me to have long nails. When I had them, it was a conscious choice and I liked them. I'll have them long again when I so choose.

What's lame is that people wish to take every little thing that makes a woman look feminine and call it oppressive, or put the women down for it. It may not be your thing. It may be something you wanted and couldn't have, but putting a feminist spin on everything you don't like cheapens the concept.

They did the right thing. Usually, I would not defend the actions of an airline, because they are normally asinine, but sorry, autistic or not (and this will be used for pity points), if Mom can't control a kid on a flight, they don't need to be there. And no, autism isn't a free pass. If he can't deal with a plane ride, his mother should find another way to travel. The blame lies with the mother who expects pity because she has a child with developmental issues. Take some responsibility and be a real woman.
