1 good comment : - US #1 economy of the world is #1 polluter. Lots of critics are indeed forgetting the #1 production part. They are also forgetting all the advande the US is taking in biofuel for example : how many countries, besides Brazil maybe, can boast 2mil+ cars driving with E85? On the other side, after Kyoto, some countries, such as France, had their bureaucracy implement several limitation on energy consumption or recycling that are increasing the paid price for the end user. Guess what? They're jalous!
1 bad comment : - let's suck the oil of those middle east unevolved tribesmen, because, after all, that's all they are, and moreover that's all they're going to be : unevolved tribesmen.
Kewl. Global warming is incrasing tornadoes and storms strength and occurence. We'll be able to add up some claims on houses warming when we'll sue the heat emitting industries on that matter. It's going to warm up my lawyer.
I love Neatorama…it is wonderful I’d like to get it in sign language Are you thinking about? Thanks for all
*ahem* sorry ;)
On a more serious note, I communicated with my kids with a dozen signs or so from the American sign langage (drink, milk, bread, pain, sleep, etc.) before they were able to speak. We had some good exchanges that I think would have been impossible without it. Neat.
capitalism is not amoral. It has "no moral", it's just optimisation under constraints. That's why it's the best system (best in the sense it's winning over other ones) Our 'job' is to put constraints (ethics, redistribution of wealth, etc.) and to find a good balance between those contraints and the wealth production, i.e. not to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. The level of balance-desire changes with our beliefs (Republican vs Democrats...), as long as ideology does not blind the system users (communism, some religions, etc.).
I think freegans miss the point. Like said in many posts, the only way to opt out of capitalism is to create a community that will not adopt those rules, not parasiting the system they aborh.
Honestly from Shakers, and cummunalism-like societies in New Emgland and elsewhere, to so called communists regimes or religion based governments, I've never seen opting out of capitalism working on the long run. (Hey, how do you find the land first?)
Some people must fell like being drawn towards the dark side of the force ("He will join us or die, my master."), but it's just a question of balance, not becoming extremists.

Detailingly neat.
