Bait And Switch

That shiny new Nintendo Switch sure is pretty, and the console's future certainly looks bright, but as it stands right now people are hunting down and paying a fortune to play one great game.

Don't get me wrong- Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wind looks totally dreamy, but paying five hundred bucks to play a game is straight up cucco!

My takeaway from this Megacynics comic- buy the boots, they'll get you where you need to go until the price drops.

Watch Norman Reedus Get Dragged Out Of A Live News Broadcast

Norman Reedus became the runaway star of The Walking Dead during the show's first season, and ever since his star has continued to rise as Norman continues to give us reasons to love him.

(YouTube Link)

Recently he and TWD producer Greg Nicotero appeared on the British morning show Sky News, and they had quite a nice chat about zombies, gore and Brits acting in American TV shows.

Then the show came back from a commercial break and things got really weird, as Norman and Greg were inexplicably dragged off the set by the floor manager.

WTF Sky News? Why can't Greg and Norman talk about the weather as well?

The Worst Marriage Advice From Every Decade

It seems like everyone has advice for married couples, and some married couples will look for advice from pretty much anybody when they feel like their marriage is on the rocks.

But unless they're talking to an experienced marriage counselor that advice is likely to be useless, because every person and marriage is different so the advice must be tailored to the couple.

Good Housekeeping took snippets of horrible marriage advice from "reputable" sources such as Reader's Digest, Bernarr McFadden's Womanhood and Marriage and Walter Gallichan's Modern Woman and How To Tame Her and broke it down by decade.

Think of it as a guide to the decline of sexism....oh wait, this one from Patti Stanger's 10 Commandments for Women Looking for Love was published in 2014...looks like we've got a ways to go!

Netflix Wants to Let You Choose the Ending to Their Shows

Remember how disappointing the ending for The Sopranos was? Well, a new Netflix technology is being released to allow you to change what happens on your favorite TV shows (at least, the ones Netflix makes). The choose-your-own adventure concept could make shows way more rewatchable, but it also could make them not quite as satisfying if all the shows you watch end up the way you want them to. Plus, it will hard to ensure the same quality of acting, directing and writing when everyone involved has to create multiple story lines. And, of course, the concept will make also make it harder to talk about with freinds since what you watched might not be the same as what they watched.

You can read more about the idea and how they plan to implement it over on The Daily Mail.

What do you guys think, is this a winning concept or just another marketing gimmick destined to fail?

This Burger's Bun Is Made From Fried Brie

Some days you want to diet and some days you just want to eat yourself to death. When you want to watch your body's whole world burn, there is the EatFamous Burger from Holy Chuck Bugers. This marvelous monstrosity takes two full wheels of brie, breads and deep fries them and then uses them as buns for an already over-the-top burger that features four burger patties, eight strips of bacon, four slices of aged cheddar and a fried egg on top.

(Video Link)

Of course eating this beast isn't just difficult due to all the calories, but also because those two gooey cheese buns don't exactly make it easy to pick up and chow down. But a mess is a small price to pay for something this ooey-gooey good.

Smart Glasses With Liquid Lenses That Adjust To Any Prescription

American optometrists have a racket enforced by law that says correctional lenses can't be sold without a prescription, and patients must update their prescription every year (or two for glasses).

But most people don't really need to update their prescription that often, and buying a new pair of glasses ever other year is expensive and a hassle.

So here's hoping these smart glasses created by engineers at the University of Utah make it past the testing stage- because they automatically adjust to any prescription.

These futuristic glasses have liquid lenses adjustable to any prescription via smartphone app, and the adaptive liquid lenses "can automatically switch between two prescriptions using piezoelectric actuation based on what the wearer is looking at."

The Disney Characters In Every Office

Most Disney movies do a poor job of presenting real life because the characters pretty much all live in a fairy tale world, where they're only forced to work in deplorable conditions as a way to develop their heroism.

But in the real world we've gotta work just to pay rent and bills and eat and stuff, and we don't become heroes by running the rat race- we just become worn out.

But if you think about it every office is full of people who resemble Disney characters- because they wander around aimlessly all day and act like they're from another world. (Comic by Paul Westover)

Guy Expertly Pilots Speedboat Straight Into A Pole

As a general rule drivers should refrain from crashing into stuff, no matter what kind of vehicle they're driving, and all vehicles come standard with a way for the driver to steer clear of danger.

But the guy in this video seems to think steering wheels are made to enable crashing rather than avoidance, and he seems to think speedboats are indestructible.

(YouTube Link)

Judging by the look on his face he just froze when he should have steered away from the pole, but if he actually meant to hit that pole he should consider a career in stunt boating!

This Adorable Japanese Mascot Drums Like A Heavy Metal God

Metal bands are made up of more than just darkly clad characters these days, and with bands like Mac Sabbath, GWAR and Green Jelly out there it's becoming hard for an ordinary human to stand out.

But the Japanese apple mascot character in this video is such a badass drummer he doesn't need a band!

(YouTube Link)

His name is Nyango Star, and he's an apple-cat thing from Kuroishi city in Aomori prefecture who really knows his way around a drum set. Here he is absolutely killing it while playing the Slipknot track "Before I Forget":

(YouTube Link)

Nyango Star recently came to the world's attention when this video of him playing Anpanman's March was shared by Twitter user @ak1225_062708 :

Now every metal band in the world is trying to get Nyango Star to audition, but he's so metal he thinks joining bands is for posers!

Animals No Longer on the Endangered Species List

If you follow news on endangered species, it can get pretty depressing to see so many animals facing extinction. But not all news about endangered animals is bad news. In fact, on TopTenz, you can read about 10 animals who have been removed from the endangered species list -including the panda that has served as an icon for conservation of endangered species since the WWF chose the bear as their icon in 1961. And while we so often hear about poachers decimating rhino populations in Africa, their cousins in India have also been taken off the endangered species list in the last decade.

There might still be a lot of animals that need our help out there, but articles like this are a reminder that we can make a difference and bring animal populations back from the brink. So see the whole list over at TopTenz.

How To Make Your Own Blooming Marshmallow

Paying five bucks for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate is hard for customers to swallow, so baristas come up with clever gimmicks that make people want to fork over a fiver.

But one of the coolest coffee shop gimmicks I've seen in a long time is pretty easy to replicate at home- the blooming marshmallow.

Dominique Ansel's fancy sugar flower has been taking social media by storm just like his Cronuts did before, but this one's actually pretty easy to make at home thanks to this video and recipe by POPSUGAR.

Crafty Father And Son Build An Assault Trombone

There's something special about a parent and child creating and constructing something together, and hearing about these stories of building and bonding remind us of fun times from our own childhood.

But these endearing builds are even better when the project they're building is absurd, fun for the kid to play with and totally unique.

Back in 2015 YouTuber CAPTAINQUINN and his son built a real life cartoon weapon- an Assault Trombone that takes down wascally wabbits and daffy ducks with a deafening toot!

The Best Photos From The B&W Child Photography Contest 2016

(Looking For The Queen by Magdalena Hutchins)

Kids have a unique(ly short) view of the world, but it's hard for them to effectively convey their view to adults because they have yet to learn how to use language to make the content of their minds known.

(Untitled by Alicja Brodowicz)

Photographers who work with children as their subjects therefor try to show us what the children see, and how the wee folks feel in the land of the big people.

(Batman by Anna Kuncewicz)

These fantastic photos are winners from the 3rd annual International Photo Competition B&W Child 2016, and looking through them all is like taking a visual trip through the highs and lows of childhood.

A Different Kind Of Spider Man

The words "spider" and "man" are so common they must come together quite often in the world of costumed crime fighting, and Peter Parker can't be the first hero to see how cool those two words sound together.

But, as this comic by Invisible Cat Stories shows, the criminals and villains who face Peter's version are actually getting off easy! Death by thousands of spiders...*shiver*
