Yay! I played with this in middle school. A hint for someone wanting a challenge without looking at the solution: You can do it in three lines if you expand the size of your imaginary paper a bit.

I'm looking at getting a Wachovia checking account. Their ads say they deposit $1 for every transaction into a savings account. Seems like that could add up quick. Anyone know what the catch is on that? Minimum purchase amount?

LL - that's what WOULD happen if our brains didn't compensate. Apparently (and I'm basing this only on this article), instead of seeing 1/10th of a second in the past, our brain rapidly figures out what it will look like 1/10th of a second in the future and shows us that instead.

Neat article! I'd like to see more research on the subject.

Not iambic pentameter. For one thing, there are six paired syllables, not five. For another, cocaine is double accented, removing the requisite soft syllable in iambic.

This is one of those things that makes me thing illegal drug users are stupid. Your cocaine was once mixed with paste and paint and God knows what else.

The second one was not impressive or original at all! All they did was Thriller. Big whoop. First was awesome, they did not follow through with the second. Disappointing. No, they can't do it a third time, but they may do enough to keep rabid audience fans happy.

"6. Personality"

Anyone that has ever had a dog, cat, horse, or any pet really, would probably agree that duh, of course animals have personality.

I agree with a lot of the article, but we still need to be cautious in assigning emotions to animals based on behavior. We tend to see what we want to see.

It's also getting frustrating how the cost of gas is trickling into seemingly every industry. Prices are rising due to the cost of transport. Fewer people are traveling, meaning that tourist destinations and dog boarding services suffer. We can't break our dependence on oil overnight, but prices rise rise rise every day.
