Àmazing gallery. I have always liked the aesthetics of Russian space hardware over american. They seem more scifi to me, maybe even a little bit steampunk.

I realized all my memories were fake(or at least corrupt) around high school.
I moved between 4 different houses/towns in about 6 years (my parents were house flippers during the real estate boom)
It turns out nearly half of my memories were set in one house, school, town, and with people they could not have possibly, chronologically taken part in.
Like just the other day I was trying to remember what it was like when I got my first acceptance letter from college(because now I am applying all over again). But no matter how hard I tried I could only remember it happening in the house my parents lived in after I was already in college.

So I gave this a try
It was strange how quickly the effects started.
Within a minute I lost the ability to recognize my own face. I knew it was a face but I wasn't able to tell whose it was.
Soon after that I started to see the face of my deceased grandmother, but I was not surprise by this at all. We look similar, and to be honest that was the face I thought I was going to see going into this experiment. So most likely it was a self fulfilling prophecy and I projected that face on.
Then I started to see the face of what most people call "The Greys," the archetypal alien. Big dark eyes, narrow jaw, no nose, and a large skull. I think most psychiatrist would tell you this is the face that infants see in their parents and that leads to a lot of alien abduction dreams when people are really dreaming about early childhood experiences.
I stopped after this because my room mate came in and found me staring at myself in the living room mirror mumbling to myself about aliens.

4chan is the only site on the web where three threads in a row can make me cry, roll on the floor laughing, and vomit respectively.

It is great that we still have these people around, living parts of significant history. I would like to see a lot more interviews like this while we still have the chance. I have just recently lost both WWII veterans in my family, I wish I had talked with them more about their experiences in war, and their lives in general.
Incedently, while we are on the subject of surviving veterans... there was a young civil war soldier who lived until the 1950s. Can you imagine a life where you saw the both the American industrial revolution and the atomic age?

"It shows day turning into night as the Earth rotates beneath him."
Erm thats not exactly what is happening.
The ISS is traveling from west to east at roughly 20k mph. There is a sun rise and set every 90 minutes.

It is called Detroit
A combination of white flight and the ruin of the American Auto industry has made that city worse off than most third world Hell-holes.

Apparently Malmö is the cesspool of Sweden, everyone warned me to stay away and not go out at night.
But it was still 1000X less scary than my home town of Baltimore at night.
If I ever get back I will feel a little less safe knowing this guy is the fine blue line there.

This is such bullspit.
Liberals only invoke social Darwinism when it suits them in making excuses for welfare moms with 6 kids. And as the child of two social workers I can tell you this is not some false stereotype, it is true more often than not.
But when someone tries to place humans back into nature to explain why some people have it harder than other, these same people say "It isn't nature, it is society that has let them down."
Give me a friken break. Stupid people make stupid choices, which leads them to having a bad life.

"the Swedes, relatively rich in comparison"
WTF am I reading?
Not only do they not make as much, but over 60% of their income goes to taxes.
If anything they are taking to this subculture because they are all anti-establishment.

I hate how all you Tesla fan boys with no scientific training start swooning over him after watching a documentary on The History Channel.
His contributions to science are far exaggerated, and are rather minimal.
he is famous for being a little eccentric, not for being a great scientist. I mean even this video makes it seem like AC was Tesla's invention, IT WASN'T!
The only contribution Tesla can really claim is the AC electric motor (most electric motors used today are DC anyway), and some minor improvements he made to turbines. These are mere sub-footnotes to the contributions of people like Edison(who was really a jerk, the video got that right).

Actually there are some gallery games in Ocean City Maryland that I have pictures of my parents next to when they were my age, and they look exactly the same now.
So that is roughly 30 years of operation right there. And there no telling how long they were around before those pictures were taken or how long they will continue to operate.
They are the classic games like shooting a target in a ceramic clowns mouth to inflate a balloon. First persons balloon to pop wins.
The prizes have certainly changed though. Last time I played I received a poster of a scantily clad woman on a motorcycle.
