Argh, count me in amongst the folks glad to hear that PostSecret is back. I saw Frank Warren speak at my university last year and it made the already-beautiful project even more inspirational. We really are lucky to live in an age where it's more clear than ever that connecting with other human beings - realizing that our deep, dark secrets aren't so uniquely ours as we'd thought - isn't so impossible, after all...

Holy crap. Even with as noble an end as environmentalism I just can't see any POSSIBLE way that these means are justified. Actually it's even a bit scarier -because- it's being attached to something so important and socially positive, I'd imagine it'll be incredibly easy for supporters of the idea to jump down the throats of opponents with a ridiculous, "What, don't you care about global warming and the environment??" claim. Privacy is pretty danged important, too, and to think that saving one requires sacrificing the other is short-sighed and vile.

Man. I love the UK, it hurts to see all of this Big Brother stuff going on there (not that it's not going on elsewhere, but dang it, I really LIKE the UK).

That actually makes me feel a little verklempt, could you even -imagine- so many other students taking a stand like that on your behalf? That's gotta be one of those things that the original victim will take with him the rest of his life, far far far more so than had David and Travis merely "kicked the bullies' asses."

How amazing that there are people like those two students. Good for them for sticking up for somebody -without- resorting to brainless violence (gosh, imagine, problems can be solved without grunting caveman tactics? Who'd have thunk it?) I hope they both go very far in life.

Heh, I had no idea there were any sort of fishbowl regulations in Europe, fluff - though after an initial googling on the subject that yielded "fish bowl porn" as the first hit (I DON'T want to know), I finally managed to find a BBC News article that mentioned round fishbowls being illegal because they're believed to make fish blind - I'd had no idea such was the case. Learn something new every day! But no, they're not illegal in America. Apparently we relish the sound of poor little goldfish thumping sightlessly into the sides of their bowls over here =P

That cat bowl looks pretty cute when looking at it from above like that but I wish they'd had a picture from the side as well - are we going to have to keep our fish not only blind but living on a slant in order to get the most out of the cat-quarium?

Oh my goodness, I would LOVE one of those! Think how much fun it'd be to grab hold of the ejection lever in the middle of your horrible meeting, a look of wild excitement on your face ... alas, if only it worked ...

Neat idea as a 'concept' or art project, though I must admit it makes the germophobe in me twitch a bit. What would it be made out of? Something comfy enough for sleeping on seems like it'd be too porous and spongy to make for a table that could easily be cleaned, so it'd probably end up being kinda squicky to sleep on after a while - and don't even get me started on people who drool in their sleep =P

Put it away before bringing your date home? Are you kidding? If you have to do that you're clearly dating the wrong type of person ;)

(hmm, unless of course you're just worried that your date will love it so much that she/he might steal it ...)

Actually it's technically "LEGO bricks," not just Lego OR Legos. Apparently the company considers it trademark dilution to refer to them otherwise (The Wikipedia entry notes that the following notice used to be in their catalogs: "The word LEGO® is a brand name and is very special to all of us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' ). If you're gonna take the time to be nitpicky, at least be accurate about it ;)

As to those videos, they're both such fun! I think of them every time I pass by a treadmill display in a store or what-not - it's so hard to resist the urge to try re-enacting a live version ...
