A Man's Comments

Hmm. My post was removed. Apparently the topic is the ammo, but talking about the ammo is in bad form. I guess that leaves me nothing to say.

I'll buy some if it hits the market, unless some useful idiot in Congress declares them "cop killers" and tries to ban them.

I wish they had specified the grain weight of the round; is it similar to the 5.56 Nato MK262 Mod1 77gr (Black Hills) long range SPR round? If so, the extra grain weight coupled with the higher velocity might account for most of that performance.

I've seen two or three other very similar pieces, and for some reason they always go for the horrible presidents like Lincoln and Roosevelt.

This is the only one I liked:

Because George Washington wouldn't tolerate zombies.

Marishka really? The broken window fallacy was put to bed by Bastiat eons ago. That's like drawing bath water out of the tub at one end, spilling some, pouring into the other end, and claiming that you are filling the tub.

Money is being drawn from the already struggling UK private sector, and blown on fripperies. Even assuming an uber-optimistic supposition that there will be no waste and that cost will be kept to a minimum (which is insane already) how does it benefit the English economy in the long term to raise the cost of useful items like food, cars, and furniture, to subsidize wedding themed knickknacks? Is that the best industry to develop in the UK? snow globes and royal wedding t-shirts?

I recently got a bug up my arse and read a dozen or so articles from travelers to the States; primarily first impressions, but some written after longer durations. Three trends imerged.

First, Americans are incredibly helpful. They are so helpful that foreigners are often taken aback at the almost intrusive level of helpfulness.

Second, America is huge, and huge in a way that cannot be rightly expressed; it must be experienced. This is a huge influence on Americans culturally, technologically, and habitually.

Third, Americans are divers. So divers in fact, that it should seem silly to try to pin any behavior on "Americans" once one understands just how broad a net the term actually casts.

The problem with taxing the rich is that taxation is theft.

The difficulties that arise with executing said theft are myriad, and the methods for combating the difficulties are draconian and repugnant to a free society. They are also counterproductive; there is a practical limit to how much you can squeeze out of producers before they will simply flee the tyranny.
