However, I do my own organic gardening and compared to what I get in the supermarket, it DOES taste better. Water use is minimal as I've conditioned my soil properly. You can't grow any ol' thing you want, but I'm fine with that. I at least get better peppers, herbs, beans, garlic, and salad greens than the supermarket shopper.

There's nothing to forgive, particularly when used in written language. It's a perfectly valid device of speech, not only in English. There are far greater, common language abuses, like over-reliance on spell check (and axiomatically, the perpetuation of the indistinguishability of things like "your" and "you're"), absent punctuation, ALL CAPS, and txtspk.

What's really stupid is talking about yourself in the third person. I feel like choking people who do that.

I agree with Dev. This guy is obviously an English major type and not a Linguistics major type or he'd understand that differences register, dialect, elison, internal and external sandhi, etc. do not amount to incorrectness.

However, bad grammar is bad grammar and should be exterminated.
