Socialites? Yes. The potato represented the poor, and the paper cones represented "entitlement" (by bloodline or fortune), and the needle represented industry (materials and manufacturing) that they controlled and used to control the poor.

Totally made that up. Or did I?

I looked for this item at Toys R Us. They don't have any. I guess they don't make them anymore. :)

True Story portion of my comment: My son (20-mos) found a perfectly-sized dowel (0.5" Diam., 30" L.)on the ground on our way to the mail "house" of our apartment complex. Oh, the joy in his discovery! This device can be swung, poked, dragged, and pushed! It does it all!

And yet the users rave in their reviews. Apple gets top ratings in customer tech service. MS gets lower ratings, even though their updates are free.

Andre Agassi was right: "Image is everything". Apple will improve your image as you type away at the Starbucks, with a glowing white apple on your screen-back.

Yup, once again we have evidence that it's worth a try (to somebody selling shtuff) to market any "product" that comes to mind. Someone is going to buy it.

I use Alton Brown's "unitasker" guideline: unitasker bad. Even the pizza wheel does more than cut pizzas; you can cut brownies, too. The garlic press can also press chocolate chunks into bits.

And scratch the darn pan. What is it, Tiffany & Co. silver? You know, Walmart sells anodized aluminum pizza pans -- cheap if not scratch resistant.

@Kingsley: Click the link to see the pics. In tub mode, the bowl is at bottom; in shower mode, it's at top. Looks about pi radians to me. But I think that you were thinking as I did before the jump: it's a shower in upright position, and it's a tub when lowered to the floor. There's your 90 deg.

In anycase, any middle class apartment has a tub-shower combo that doesn't require reconfiguration between modes. Zero energy use to go from tub to shower or vv. Doesn't that make them superior in design?

OK, ridiculous:

1. How heavy is that briefcase?
2. SR-71 Red?bird airlines does not stop at your destination? I have to jump? Then I still have to drive?

Make sure your helmet is properly secured, or that's going to be one nasty burn.

Commutes just got worse. ;-P

(Joking aside: I heard a statement by a U.S. auto guy[?] on NPR saying how changes in the economic environment affecting autos caught them by surprise. But the Japanese looked through their "Futurescope" and got to work on hybrid technology? Arguably nascent, their work puts them way ahead. Shame on you, Big Three.)

With her sacrifice, "Not-pretty Singing Girl" brought honor to her family. That, and an extra bag of rice plus a family pass to the movie "Glorious and Victorious China".
