Yikes. It's worth mentioning in their defence that piano movers don't drop pianos very often. So I'm sure they're aware of the magnitude of their error. Though the story says the owners only insured it for what they paid for it at auction, and not what it would actually cost to replace. That's very silly.

I have a phobia of machines and large devices like this. I'm excited about the discoveries that (we hope) will be made with the collider, but I cannot bear to actually look at the picture without feeling an intense horror. Phobias are funny things, aren't they?
I think anyone that tries to use the swastika as a peace symbol these days is horribly naive. And it can be a racist symbol - the Nazis weren't just after the Jews you know. Blacks, gypsies, homosexuals, Catholics...
