seefish3, I remember a story a while back about a Muslim woman slicing an eggplant and thought the seeds spelled out "Allah" in Arabic script.
I wish I would get god-food. Then I could either sell it to some devout person for tidy profit, or maybe be a douchebag who calls a news crew to show it off and then unexpectedly eat it halfway through. :p
"A clinical study showed that eating two 1 1/2 cup servings daily of Cheerios cereal reduced bad cholesterol when eaten as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol."
To be fair, eating lots of things "part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol" could lower bad cholesterol.
On a different note, I would probably read a "Horror-and-lies-orama." ;)
Wow. I always assumed it was a paper crown thing. I have never, ever seen a real-life analogue (or a picture thereof, nor any other cartoon/comic representation) before. I even do a fair amount of reading up on vintage fashions (admittedly mostly women's fashion, but still). =\
Continuing cnidaria's comment about marrying within one's own culture for the prevalence of genetic diseases, perhaps "self-taught" geneticists (per the article's language) should take a genetics course or two. Recessive diseases haven't been eliminated through natural selection because, well...they're recessive.
I've heard that the average person carries about 5 genes for potentially lethal/crippling recessive disorders. You wouldn't ever know unless you had your DNA sequenced or if you had the bad luck to reproduce with another carrier and create a diseased child.
So you get a historically fairly homogeneous group of people generally tending to marry others of the same ethnic backgrounds... yeah, you're going to see more recessive diseases. Same reason incest is bad: the bad recessive genes start to pile up.
It would be interesting if there were an IQ/DNA link, but I don't think these men are onto it.

To be fair, long, ornate, all-encompassing dresses were in fashion a whole lot longer than minidresses, shorts, or jeans have been. ;)
