You know, I initially thought, "Well, who are we to say what's the correct way for a lawyer to dress and advertise"? but come on. It's ridiculous. Enough with te PC BS already. We laugh at things that are outside the norm and lawyers like that are not the norm. If you can laugh at fat dudes with mullets and spandex-clad grandmas you can laugh at pimped out lawyers, too. That being said, I like how he doesn't ASK you if you need a good lawyer. He COMMANDS you to need a good lawyer.

I agree. Tacky. But not everyone can be as hip and cool as *this*. I can see grandmas all over the country thining this as a fantasic, heartfelt idea. To each his own.

Ever since learning about aflatoxin I've tried to limit the amount of nuts and corn in my diet. Here's an easy-to-read article about why you should limit the amount of peanut butter you eat: http://www.deanesmay.com/archives/007598.html

I voted my conscience so voted for neither McCain or Obama, but I am very glad that Obama won over McCain. It feels good to see so many people happy and hopeful again. I don't know if people realize how important the overall attitude of the people of this country is. Standing behind our President and being proud of our country is SO important in so many ways and clearly a lot of people couldn't find it in themselves to do either of those things in many years. So, now, I hope they keep this kind of respect and admiration so we can build this country back up. I'm so over America-bashing.

Thank you to my fellow Californians for overwhelmingly agreeing that some farm animals should be treated a little better (before you kill and devour their flesh and organs) and F-YOU to my fellow Californians for taking away the right of gays to marry. It's so sad that a day that shines for so many has to be tainted in such a terrible way. It shows how far we've come and how far we still have to go (I would add that the misogynistic attitude of so many with the Palin jokes over the last couple months shows that the attitude towards women has a long way to go, too).

it's not just a Canadian thing. we used to make our own in upstate NY, too.

and, no, the fresh sap doesn't taste like water. it tastes like... tree. slightly sweet, a bit of green wood, earthy. it's nice. when i was ten, my friends and i would snip little branches off the neighborhood maples, just to get a little taste of sap.

I dunno...I have a desk from Design Tuscano that has SECRET COMPARTMENTS. I have needed a desk with secret compartments since I was a kid. They also have yard art like a zombie climbing up from his grave. I'd definitely put that in the "need" category.

I have dug Wall Drug! It was the most awesome tourist trap I've ever seen. There is a plethora of things to take your picture in front (or atop of) and all kinds of things to explore. The mechanical figures in little cabins that act out scenes was probably my favorite (they'e kind of creepy!). The shops were awesome even if there was a lot of junk to sort through. It's all cheesey, of course, but Wall Drug is the best of the cheese. They have an employment program that brings in people from all over the world, too.

Knowing that waiters are taxed on their estimated tips (not sure if that's just something in California or not) it'd be a real dick move to not tip just because I "don't believe" in tipping. I tip if the service is decent, a standard percentage, but do increase it or decrease it based on out-of-the-ordinary service. It's a reward system. If you tip them ahead of time they can still give you crappy service despite being given a tip. I want to make them EARN a little extra. I am paying for service so they should be rewarded based on their service and if they do an awful job yet still have to pay taxes on tips they didn't get then maybe they'll step up their game. As far as "low wages", in my state they are making at least minimum wage plus tips (that they often have to share with the cooks and buspersons), but in Arizona it can be something ridiculous like $2.50 per hour because they assume they'll be getting tips. Now THAT is messed up. Of course, people have a choice as to the jobs they choose...

I thought the term "that one" or "this one" when telling a story for example, complete with the thumb point was pretty common. I'm surprised so many people are shocked by this. I mean, it was a bit casual for the setting, but I don't think he meant anything terrible by it. Making something out of it is a real reach.
