David 7's Comments

Every generation has different skills, skills that you need and can use. I know how to change the oil in my car but why would I? The time, the hassle and now you have to find a place to dispose of the used oil and filter. Why do today's kids need to know how to build something using a motorcycle engine? Today's engines are too complicated but if you did and tried to use it anywhere somebody would complain to the authorities and you'd end up with some kind of ticket or court summons. The necessity of yesteryear is not the necessity of today, in other words, today calls for today's skills.

As an employee of a small city in California I understand where this ASBO law comes from. Hardly anybody ever removes their personal posters announcing lost pets, yard sales and what not. We had a case not too long ago where posters for a lost cat were put up on every pole and post within a half mile radius. The cat was found shortly thereafter (and not because of this poster blitz) but city employees took them down, not the citizens that put them up. t took a lot of tax paid man hours to remove them that could be put to better use. To me it's a form of graffiti.

Anybody that gets e-mail has probably received most of these from friends and relatives over the years. I'm amazed that some still make the rounds and that some people believe them to be true. Usually the pictures are enough to clue one in on the probability it's a hoax but sometimes the text is just as insightful, such as the shark/navy diver in South Africa when the Golden Gate Bridge is clearly seen in the background.

I watch a lot of TV (Maybe 30 hours a week) It's something I really enjoy and make no apologies for it. Because of my schedule I record almost everything and then watch it at my leisure (This way I can edit commercials, newsbreaks and such) If you don't watch TV, that's great, just don't think that somehow you are more enlightened and intellectually superior because of it. Television isn't evil, it's just a diversion like the computer or video games or books (By the way, I read about 20 novels a year also so I'm not illiterate or uneducated either)

No parent, or the kid themselves, needs to be told that they are fat. This is just another attempt by the people in power, real or imagined, to tell everyone that they know what's best for the general public. Are there overweight kids? Of course. Are ther underweight kids? Of course. Everybody is different and we as a society need to recognize that some people are always going to be over weight and that is not necessarily from excessive eating. Haven't we all seen people that can eat anything and everything and not be fat? Haven't we all see other people that seem to gain weight from an average diet? People are different and their bodies react differently to food. When my brother was 18 he was 5'7" tall and weighed 92lbs. When I was 18 I was 6'1" and weighed 200lbs. He never liked food that much and I never met a food I didn't like.

I remove graffiti for a living and stickers of any kind when placed on someone else's property is vandalism and vandalism is a crime. It's just that simple.

No amount of money "makes" someone happy. Money in and of itself is completely irrelevant to how happy you are. Money will not eleviate stress (although it can provide for needs that will lessen stress). Money cannot buy good health (although it can provide the best health care available). Money cannot buy people that truly love and care about you (although it can buy people to care for you). Happiness isn't even related to money.

Oh, and "MoonCake". Franklin's quote was, "Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". 1755. It's oft misquoted in various ways but specifically he was speaking of the nation's collective Liberty and Safety, not what 'kdp" was speaking of.

He didn't go to jail. It only says he "spent more than a year in the Quad-City spotlight". That would mean he wasn't even charged with the murders. The ad is a true statement but whether or not he actually killed anyone is not evident.

Hey Alex, The bed you want at Relax The Back comes in two seperate, extra long twins that attach and become a queen sized single bed. The good part is that each person has control over their half so you can minipulate your side and not disturb your wife. Perfect solution.

Something is wrong with that police department. This is a known crime where dogs are stolen and rewards are demanded. Theft and extortion. She needs to call the DA's office.

Let's be done with it and charge $25 a gallon, throw the country into complete chaos and when the dust clears we won't even worry about the price of gas. What about planes, trains and trucks, not to mention electricity? Keep driving the gas prices up and we won't have any jobs to go to or products to buy. We can't go back to the nineteenth century. Raising gas prices may help out in the long run but in the short term it's going to be real bad. Tell me your job doesn't depend on petroleum products.

This is what it means to be young, daring and crazy. I'd be more disappointed if nobody tried it. Good for him!

Jaxx. He was probably wearing shorts under that gown. A lot of us did.

100%. I knew the actual sequels, no problem. If you had asked me specifically if the others were actual sequels I wouldn't have known I don't think. The six/six made it easy for me.
