David 7's Comments

The question of who actually invented the hamburger will probably never be answered but the modern hamburger as we know it MAY have started in Texas in the late 1800's and MAY have been introduced to the world at the 1904 World's Fair. There seems to be no claim on the hamburger origin prior to that.
As far as this article goes I found it interesting that Japan has so many 7-11's and I guess that's why I can get sushi at my local one now, although I'm hesitant to do so. I also got a kick out of Motel 6. They could rename it now to Motel 45 because that's an approximate average nationwide for a night's lodging now.

People don't necessarily want to do away with taxes entirely (money to run things has to come from somewhere) but we would like to see the money spent properly. I live in California and despite having one of the highest rates on all taxes, the legislature never seems to spend money on things like the massive infrastructure problems we have. We all have to live within a budget yet the politicians look to the people as an endless piggy bank. Need more money jus raise fees or raise taxes. There will come a breaking point and maybe it's been reached in Massachusetts.

Bottom line is that men and women think differently. The problem comes with these two facts.
A woman wants to change her husband to fit the image of what she wants, and is disappointed when he doesn't.
A man wants his wife to remain the woman he married and is disappointed when she doesn't.
Our society expects men to aquiesce to the demands of women to the point of going against their very nature. Listen but don't try and fix the problem that is being told to you and be sensitive while being manly.

Taylor. Here is what you are looking for.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man"
~ Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948)

Cat Killer. You're probably going to prison and certainly hell. Have a good time.

Miss C. I try to care about my own species and then people like you and Cat Killer show up.

Underhand from the free throw line? Over the backboard? Come on who hasn't done some of those shots? When I was in my 20's I could hit about seven out of ten from half court. Had I challanged a pro and did better at that one task would that have made me a better player? Of course not. Lebron is a phenomenal player but this wasn't his day at this particular event.

Miss C. I doubt very much if any child in this world is starving due to someone showing care and concern for another type of creature, furry or not. Children starve because of greed in one form or another, not because some people in England fed an alley cat. By the way, I've invested plenty of emotion on a variety of feline friends throughout the years and had that investment returned tenfold. I guess a Facebook page is ludicrous for a cat since Facebook is for young teenagers to post pictures of their debauchery, and for pedophiles to "hook up" with our kids.

Conservation at the expense of the animals. Well isn't that just great. I wonder what other results have come about because of "conservation efforts".

I've got to comment on what Dolly said.
You work on shows for theater yet you say, "Even good TV is pretty insubstancial compared to art." Says who? What is classified as art?
You read, meditate and play with the cats and describe that as "being engaged in real life". Well, if you say so I guess.
When watchin TV "you're always thinking of something else you should be doing" but listening to NPR and watching YouTube videos doesn't cause the same reaction?
You have got to be on that high horse you claim you're not on, otherwise you couldn't look that far down your nose at us peons watching television.
