Cell Phone Towers in Disguise

A transmitter tower is not, in itself, pretty. So phone companies put cell transmitters in existing structures, in natural heights such as trees, or build towers that look like something else. Weird News Files has a roundup of some places you never suspected a cell phone transmitter to be, such as this church tower. http://weirdnewsfiles.com/weird-photos/weird-stealth-cell-phone-towers-in-a-tree-near-you/ -Thanks, Drew Waters!

Cyclist Collides with Black Bear

57-year-old Jim Litz was riding his bicycle to work in Missoula, Montana when he came over a rise and saw a 300-pound black bear right in front of him! He didn't even have time to brake, and ran right into the bear. The two tumbled over together before the bear ran away. The weight of the bear had cracked Litz' helmet, and he had claw scratches over his torso.
Litz's wife drove by soon after and took her husband to Community Medical Center, and he immediately called Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to report the unusual collision. Game wardens told him they didn't think the animal was seriously injured, but was more likely suffering from some bruised ribs - just like Litz.

Doodling on the Kitchen Floor

Swedish artist Olle Hemmendorff (featured previously at Neatorama) didn't want wooden floors, but also didn't want to remove them, which would lower the value of the apartment. So he covered his kitchen floor with vinyl contact paper -and then drew wood on it! Notice he also has carpet on the counter. Link -via Dark Roasted Blend

Anti-Theft Lunch Bag

Don't you just hate it when someone at work helps himself to your lunch? Here's the solution:
Anti-Theft Lunch Bags are regular sandwich bags that have green splotches printed on both sides. After your sandwich is placed inside, no one will want to touch it.

Antarctic Vehicles

You can't just import your normal sedan to get around in Antarctica. Special conditions call for special vehicles. Pro Vehicles has a roundup of the Top 13 Polar Super Vehicles from Antarctic. This picture shows a standard truck refitted with belts for covering snowy terrain. Vehicles made especially for the Antarctic look even weirder. Link -Thanks, Mads!

Unicycling the Himalayas

Steve Colligan plans to ride across the mountains of Nepal and Tibet on a unicycle!
On the 23rd September 2008 I fly to Nepal, then onto Tibet. I am going to ride my unicycle 1000km (620 miles) across the Roof of the World, from Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. I will be using this ride to raise as much money as possible to help fund an NGO (non-governmental organisation) and its projects to improve the educational facilities and amenities in a remote village in the Himalayas.

The 47-year-old unicyclist has ridden all over the world, but never a path this difficult. The chosen route is one that mountain bikers consider an extreme adventure, but it's never been done on a unicycle. The average elevation of the route is 4,000 meters, and temperatures go down to 15 below zero (+5F). He will cross the north face of Mount Everest and stay over at the Everest Base Camp. The trip should take 25 days. The project is underwritten by a bicycle tour company. Donations will benefit the The Hilly Region Development Club. Link -Thanks, Plumsie!

Dream Car 123

What weighs 8,000 pounds, turns on a dime, and looks like an Egyptian pyramid? The Dream Car 123! It may look like a pyramid, but it's outfitted like a tank and lights up in neon colors at night. The best part is that it runs on electricity. 3.5 hour charge will take the Dream Car 240 miles at up to 40 mph. Inventor Greg Zanis has also designed a tower garage that harvests solar and wind power to recharge the vehicle! Link (with videos) -Thanks, Jon Jason!

Ninja Cat

This video is a bit disturbing. The cat seems to never move, but it gets closer and closer. This may give me nightmares. I'm glad my cats aren't that sneaky. -via reddit

Sofia Escapes!

Chicken wire and tar paper are not going to keep Sofia inside, because she has a plan! You get the idea she's done this before -which is probably why the camera was trained on the pen. -Thanks, Mauricio Zapata!
