Baby Pees During Adorable Photo Shoot Gone Wrong

It was quite a baby shower!

Abby Rogers, the photographer, says that this happens a lot during newborn baby photo shoots. In fact, in her experience, this always happens for a long shoot. But this is the first time that she captured it on camera. Her timing was hilariously perfect. The Daily Mail reports:

'Babies like to get to me as soon as I am undressing them... typically as I am posing them,' Mrs Rogers said.

'They are so warm and they are naked for a few hours so they get comfortable but sometimes I get lucky and it's during the part when they have a diaper on.'

This little boy is the couple's third son, so they weren't surprised either.

Check Out This Beautiful Staircase That Looks Like Liquid Marble

(Photo: unknown)

Maxim Gorky was a Russian and Soviet writer. He was a Bolshevik, but became a sharp critic of the Communist regime shortly after the Russian Revolution. Nonetheless, the Soviet government gave him a luxurious house in Moscow, which is now a museum in his honor.

The house includes a beautiful Art Noveau marble staircase that looks like it's made of a liquid. It flows down the stairs, ending with a lamp shaped like a jellyfish.

The Best Cosplay at WonderCon 2016

(Photo: York in a Box)

The best cosplayers in the world assembled at WonderCon in Los Angeles this past weekend. io9 has a photo roundup of the amazing costumes that they wore.

My favorite is this one by Bernadette Bentley, who's made several excellent costumes of Xena, including one with a bunny suit. Here, the Warrior Princess is dressed in the traditional garb of a princess. She's ready to attend the ball and rescue the prince. Bentley's performance is perfect, especially since she's the spitting image of actress Lucy Lawless.

"Queen Elizabeth has 10 times the lifespan of workers and lays up to 2,000 eggs a day."

The style guide for the Reuters news service calls for all references to Queen Elizabeth II to refer to her by name and/or with her title capitalized. When this 2006 article about honey bees reached the spell-checker, it got the sovereigns confused.

Queen Elizabeth does not lay 2,000 eggs per day. She's 89 years old and no longer up to that kind of work. But it wouldn't surprise me if she ends up with 10 times the lifespan of the average Briton.

Bruce Campbell Knows How To Improve Batman V Superman

(Image Link)

Batman V Superman met with such harsh reviews that Ben Affleck actually got bummed out about the reviews during an interview, spawning the Sad Affleck meme.

It's going to take more than sympathetic viewers and a slew of new reviews to pull BVS out of the bog, but Bruce Campbell knows what that superhero flick is missing- Ash from the Evil Dead.

Bruce proposed to save the film by boomstick and chainsaw by posting this movie poster mock-up for Ash vs Batman vs Superman: Dead by Dawn of Justice with the jab "Guys, need any help?"

But adding Bruce to the film simply wouldn't be fair, because he would outshine both Affleck and Cavill in a major way!

Animator Rediscovers His Love Of The Craft With 100 Days Of Walk Cycles

Animation is an artform that one may never truly master, and many animators spend decades of their lives working at their craft and improving their skills.

But all the non-art related things we have to do in our lives tend to get in the way of working on our art, and an animator's passion for their craft can be diminished by all the hours spent at their day jobs.

Animator turned front end developer JustGoscha knows full well how life can get in the way of art, but he came up with a clever way to get back in the game- creating a hand drawn walk cycle a day for 100 days.

Walk cycles are one of the hardest elements of traditional animation to master, but it must have been even harder to come up with so many different examples, way to strut your creative stuff JustGoscha!

The Mystery Of "Jawn"- Philadelphia's All Purpose Noun

Regional dialects and accents can make otherwise ordinary words sound a bit silly, and these strange pronunciations become the stuff of legend as people from other areas puzzle over the odd word's meaning.

In the case of "Jawn" Philadelphians have turned "joint" into an all purpose noun that is used to describe everything from locations and people to inanimate objects and abstract concepts.

(Image Link)

The origin of "Jawn" is still a bit of a mystery, and as new generations of Philadelphians grow up replacing as many words as they can with this silly slang the history of "Jawn" has begun to fade away.

But thanks to the efforts of University of Philadelphia Ph.D student Taylor Jones the story of "Jawn" will live on forever, as he uncovers the word's connection to hip hop, New York and semantic bleaching.

These Truck Drivers Are The Comedy Kings Of The Road

Anybody who has spent enough time on the highways has driven past a semi-trailer truck with a personalized paint job and had a good laugh at what that nutty trucker has painted on the side.

Truckers who put some tacky advertising eyesore on the sides of their trucks are annoying, but those truckers who put something meant to make us laugh on the side of their rigs and trailers are the comedy kings of the road.

If you see a hilarious truck or trailer design as you're heading down the highway try to keep your eyes on the road, because truckers appreciate the laughs but they hate bad drivers.

Big Cats Love Easter Too

Sure it's cute to see kids hunting for eggs on Easter morning, but did you know that lions, tigers, leopards and other wild kitties also love Easter baskets? Over at LA's Wildlife Waystation, these cool cats got a special celebration for the holiday and the resulting photos and videos are adorable.

You can see a video of Bolero the lion discovering his special holiday treats at the sanctuary's Facebook (the video won't embed here). Or check out more pictures of all the critters over at LAist.

Scientists Remove HIV from Human Immune Cells

(Photo: NIH)

Scientists have made a breakthrough in the search for a more effective treatment for HIV. Researchers at Temple University in Philadelphia used gene editing techniques to remove the HIV-1 virus from the genome of human immune cells, thus preventing the replication of the virus in those cells. UPI reports:

The CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing method uses RNA proteins to alter targeted sections of DNA in a cell. Previously, scientists at Temple had edited HIV DNA out of human cell lines. The new study, using patient cells grown in the lab, showed cleared cells were no longer susceptible to infection by HIV. [...]

The scientists edited out the HIV-1 proviral DNA in T-cell genomes of human cell lines using CRISPR, finding the cells were protected from reinfection by other, unedited cells.

Using T-cells from HIV patients grown in cell culture, the scientists reported using the gene editing method lowered viral load in the patient's cells, suggesting it could be used as a treatment.

The Rules Are Suspended for Easter

(Fowl Language Comics/Brian Gordon)

Hey, kids! A magical creature has left you treats. Start eating because that's what we do on this special day of the year.

Then, in several months, a strange man will sneak into our house at night when your parents are asleep. If you see him, be quiet and don't tell anyone.

I'm An Expert Haggler At Garage Sales

It's easy to live frugally when you buy used, but the cheaper everything you buy becomes the less you're willing to pay for all that normal priced stuff you need.

That's why scrimping is a slippery slope, and once you become a haggler you can never go back to paying the price marked on the tag.

(Vimeo Link)

I'm An Expert Haggler At Garage Sales is a dramatic performance of Jory John's cheapo script by David Harris, acted out as it is published on McSweeney's by the perfectly perturbing Matt Ingebretson.

It's so slice of life that you've probably met someone like this at one of your own garage sales, a penny-pincher who made you consider breaking a lamp over their head!

Don't Let That Power Armor Go To Your Head

Power armor is an integral piece of gear in Fallout 4, and every self respecting Wastelander knows that customizable suit of armor can make the difference between besting your foes or becoming dinner for a Deathclaw.

That being said, it's hard to keep all that fusion core power from going to your head.

Level up however you see fit, but keep those poor settlers out of it!

Electric Bunny Comics makes a good point about XP in Fallout 4- just because it's easier than ever to level up doesn't mean you should kill the entire Commonwealth just for the sake of dinging sixty!

Eggspresso: Espresso Served in Cadbury Creme Eggs

This is brilliant!

Karvan Coffee in Perth, Australia is offering a special caffeinated treat this Easter. You can get espresso served in hollowed-out Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Imagine what it would be like to sip espresso from a cup as it slowly melts the chocolate egg.
