Miss Cellania's Comments

In my radio days, we had contests all the time that were way too complicated because they were designed for advertisers and sponsors instead of listeners. In a small town, that led to the same few people winning every one of them, because they were the few that bothered. Nothing ever changed, though, because advertisers are more important than the audience.

I suppose they have as much right to appear exclusionary as minorities do (even if it is technically open to anyone), but think of the actual result. There are plenty of wide-open dating sites, where you are not forced to actually “date” anyone. Who will be attracted to this site? White supremacists. Well, at least they will know how to find each other.

By the way, minority dating sites, like minority scholarships, TV channels, and beauty pageants, were launched so they would not be overtaken and controlled by the majority in power, which so often happens when things are wide open.

Michael, thanks for reporting that. It doesn't seem to have originated here, but the folks at Feedly might want to know. It's good that you got a screenshot. If something like that ever happens, a quick screenshot will help the host track the anomaly down. Still, this kind of thing always seems to happen so randomly that you rarely get a second chance if you're not ready to screenshot the first time. That's what rogue advertisers, spammers, and hackers want.

It's a fun time for them, and he's learning lots of great stuff. Pretty neat. I hope she does the same with her daughter. Any experience can be a learning experience, and children need to learn how to act in public, how to use good manners, and how to deal with money. I did all these things with my kids, except calling it a "date." She does that because it sounds like there's not a male role model in the home. I bet it makes the 6-year-old feel really grown up for a while.
