The Best Regional Hot Dog Styles in America

Just like the Reese's slogan, there's no wrong way to eat a hot dog, and this list at Thrillist proves just how true this expression is. Over on Thrillist, you can learn about some of the most popular styles of hot dogs from around the US -and there are a whole lot of them. One strange example, the Philly Combo:

A grilled all-beef hot dog, split down the middle and laid upon a wide steamed or toasted bun, layered with sweet, vinegar-based coleslaw and a stripe of spicy mustard, and completed -- curiously enough -- with a fish cake.

Or maybe you'd prefer Maryland's crab mac n' cheese dog:

An all-beef hot dog, grilled and nestled into a soft, chewy bun, then loaded with lump crab meat, hot, gooey macaroni & cheese, and a generous dusting of Maryland’s all-time favorite sodium source: Old Bay.

I personally recommend trying a Tijuana/danger dog if you ever get the chance:

A hot dog made of unidentified meat, wrapped in bacon and deep-fried, then tossed into a soft bun and topped with any number of condiments, including (but not limited to) fried onions, mayo, mustard, ketchup, and grilled jalapeños.

Don't miss some of the many other hot dog styles available over on Thrillist.

The Conservation Center Offering Sloth Sleepovers

We've talked about the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica and while sloths may be native there, it's far from the only sloth sanctuary out there. In fact, there's also the Zoological Wildlife Conservation Center in Rainer, Oregon where you can get even more up close and personal with the sloths by booking a sloth sleepover. For $600 you can watch the nocturnal animals hang out and do their thing from 8 P.M. until 7:30 A.M. The experience might be a bit on the expensive side, but you're not only helping to support a rescue group, you're also becoming a member of a very exclusive club. That's because only ten people per day are allowed to meet the sloths at the sanctuary in order to ensure the creatures never feel stressed. It is worth noting that no matter what happens though, you will never be permitted to touch the animals -though I assume it's OK if they decide to touch you.

The Scariest Dolls In Horror Movie History

There's something inherently creepy about a lifeless, realistic-looking doll, which is why they make such great monsters in horror movies. But like most things, some of them are better than others. Thrillist recently took the time to rank the seven scariest dolls in movie history and while the expected ones are on there like Chucky from Child's Play and all the creepy puppets from Puppetmaster, there are also a few that are less popular but equally deserving of a place on the list like May from the film of the same name.

So if you find creepy dolls to be the best horror movie leads, don't miss the full list.

Over 60 Great Cosplays from the 2017 San Diego Comic Con

Last weekend Zeon and I went to the San Diego Comic Con and took cosplay pictures just like we have every year since 2009. Whether you like comics, movies, television shows or even hot sauce, there's bound to be a costume in this gallery that you'll enjoy.

This Deadpool impersonating Bob Ross was a fun sight.

Especially when you saw his great artwork complete not only with happy little trees, but also a flying chimichanga.

A particularly fun trend this year was costumed characters cosplaying as other things, like these dinos -one of whom was dressed as Deadpool while the other two were Jedis.

The Greatest Adult Jokes Hidden in Kid's Movies

If you watch kid's movies, you already know that they are loaded with jokes that go way over the heads of children watching them. In many cases, the jokes just make references to people and things the kids aren't familiar with, but sometimes the jokes are a touch risque.

Fatherly rounded up some of the greatest naughty jokes from kid's movies and their list is utterly hilarious. My only complaint is that no list talking about adult jokes in kids movies that leaves out Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is obviously missing some of the best adult jokes in children's movie history.

Even so, you can check out the full list here.

Pokemon Go Fest Was An Epic Pokemon No-Go

(Pokemon Fighters by trheewood)

Last weekend, you probably heard all kinds of news about San Diego Comic Con, but you might not have even known that over in Chicago there was a Pokemon Go Fest at the same time. As it turns out though, there was pretty much no news coming out of Pokemon Go Fest, other than the fact that it was an utter failure -spotty internet service and other issues caused most attendees to be completely unable to log in. Guests are getting a refund on their tickets, but that doesn't help people who paid scalpers a fortune for their tickets or for those who spent money traveling to Chicago just for the event.

You can read more about the disaster here.

This Restaurant Knows How to Deal With Picky Kids

Some kids are born to be foodies and immediately start ordering meals just like adults from the first time they go to a restaurant. But most parents aren't so lucky and end up ordering countless meals for their children that "don't care," "aren't hungry" or "don't want that." Fortunately for those parents, this restaurant has a menu (posted to Reddit by IWishItWouldSnow) to help translate those totally unhelpful requests. Personally, I could go for a "what? I'm not hungry" combo right now.

Perhaps most hilariously, this isn't the only restaurant to offer such a useful kid's menu.

Symba the Fat Cat Has Quite the Happy Adoption Story

Miss C recently shared the story of Symba the cat, a 35 pound stray that was surrendered to the Human Rescue Alliance and adopted by Kiah Berkeley and Peter Sorkin, who promised to stick to his diet program.

If there were any doubts about his new owners' dedication, the couple proved their absolute adoration for Symba (who was since renamed Vito) by including him in their wedding photos.

We All Have Hobbies -And This Swan's is Gardening

(Video Link)

Black swans get a bad name, but there is dark side to their beauty. In fact, they can have great personalities and even fascinating hobbies, like this swan who likes to garden in his free time. It seems this isn't even such a rare hobby for black swans, but I can't tell you if they all keep such a well-groomed garden

What Nickelodeon's Green Slime Is Actually Made Of

If you grew up watching Nickelodeon, then you probably have great memories of the green slime that covered participants in Double Dare, You Can't Do That On Television (which was technically a Canadian show) and countless other Nickelodeon programs. But have you ever wondered what actually went into that green goop?

(Video Link)

Now, thanks to this great video with Marc Sumemrs himself, you can finally put all those childhood questions to rest. The secret to the perfect slime? Vanilla pudding, apple sauce, green food coloring, and oatmeal -so you know it's delicious as well as disgusting-looking.

Fun Food and Drink Specials Served Up for the San Diego Comic Con

Downtown San Diego goes all in when it comes to celebrating SDCC and welcoming its over 130,000 attendees. Restaurants and bars are no exception to the rule and throughout the area, chefs and bartenders whip up brilliant new concoctions based on fan favorites like Wonder Woman, Game of Thrones and even My Little Ponies. Whether you're going to the convention or just want to make some fun geeky food at home, you'll want to see all the fun foods and beverages available for sale only during Comic Con weekend.

Cafe 222 (222 Island Ave.)

Always a popular Downtown breakfast spot, Cafe 22's specialty of the month is a waffle shaped just like Captain America's shield and adorned in the red, white and blue of raspberries, whipped cream and blueberries. It's a heroic way to start your day.

Tajima (901 E St.)

Naruto fans know that the show's main character has a soft spot for some good ramen from the Ichi Raku ramen restaurant. He also has a particular list of favorite ingredients including pork chashu, Japanese seaweed, green onions, half an egg, bamboo shoots and naruto fish paste cakes (that's the real name unrelated to the character). While local ramen shop Tajima's usual miso ramen always contains pork chashu, Japanese seaweed, green onions and egg, their special Naruto ramen is only available during Comic Con and has the bamboo and naruto additions to make it perfect for visiting anime fans.

The Blind Burro (639 J St.)

One of the busiest Mexican restaurants Downtown, the Blind Burro modified a few of their regular items to be particularly super -like the 10" long Super Tacos available in carne asada or pollo varieties, or the Giganto Dog which could go quite far in filling up the monster it was named for with an all beef frank topped with candied chipotle bacon, pinto puree, charred green onions, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeño puree, mayonnaise and mustard. Even the most popular appetizer on the menu, the classic guacamole, was given a name to suit the occasion as it has been retitled Kryptonite for the weekend.

The Burro didn't leave their cocktail menu behind either, sprucing up their usual house margarita, border mule and paloma tradicional with Milagro Silver and fun adornments, and redubbing them the Mega Margarita, the Pop Bam Slam Mule and the Marvel-ous Paloma.

Le Parfait Paris (555 G St.)

Rather than taking the time to introduce all new dishes just for the weekend, Le Parfait Paris decided to make all the items on their regular menu a little more super. How, you might ask? By adding superhero-shaped chocolate pieces to them all, of course! Besides Superman, there are also Batman, Spider-Man and Iron Man chocolates available.

Gelato Paradiso (789 W Harbor Dr., #117)

While the rest of the bars and restaurants on this list have merely taken inspiration from their favorite comic books, movies and tv shows, Gelato Paradiso actually partnered with Zenescope Entertainment to release three specialty gelato flavors based on characters from the company's comic book characters. The Van Helsing Vanilla Variegato features vanilla gelato with a strawberry variegato swirl; the Robyn Hood Camo Pistachio is a pistachio gelato gone nuts with hazelnuts and almonds; and the Grimm Tales of Double Chocolate Terror is made with a double chocolate gelato and cherries.

Are you unable to stop eating gelato once you start? Then you'll want to head to the Zenescope booth at the convention before noon on Saturday to register for their gelato eating contest held on Saturday at 3 PM. The winner of the contest will receive a four day pass for next year's Comic Con as well as a best of Zenescope goodie pack and all entrants will also be entered to win one of three sets of PlayStation VR goggles.

The Most Extreme Waterslides on Earth

Your local waterpark may be fun in the summer, but it's probably not worth adding to your bucket list. That being said, some waterslides might actually be worth taking an epic trip. For example, have you ever seen a waterslide that comes out of a Boeing 747?

Or the waterslide that takes you through a shark tank? And if you think that sounds crazy, just wait until you read about the waterslide that can't be ridden by women after multiple injuries to female genitalia were reported.

Things You Should Know About IKEA

(Image via Gerald Stolk)

IKEA is a strange and wonderful place and you can get a heck of a deal or get ripped off like crazy depending on what you shop for there. A Reddit thread recently asked IKEA employees about the store's secrets and the results are eye opening. One interesting lesson "We do make most of our profit on smaller metal parts that are needed for larger combinations. Although a lot of it is off set by losses in other products. Believe or not we have entire product lines where the profit margin is between -20% and -60%, yes, we do lose money on sales."

Want to find the newest possible items? Hope you're willing to drive. "There are certain test stores in each region, Stockholm and Helsingborg in Sweden, one or two in Germany, Delft in the Netherlands, Burbank, CA and one in Asia as well."

And don't worry about finding an emergency exit, "Except the exterior walls, all of the walls of the sales floor (affectionately, "the maze") are modular and movable, and every department has an emergency exit slot since every department at one point or another touches an exterior wall. We're all trained that as soon as we get the fire alert, to open the walls and call out to customers where the exits are, as well as the overhead signs by federal law that say we need to mark where emergency exits are."
