The Real Life Locations of 5 Horror Movie Locations

What do you think of when you watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I'm no psychic, but I'm willing to be it has nothing to do with food. But if you go to the iconic house where the Leatherface resided in the film, you won't find a bunch of rotting body parts, but a dinner called the Grand Central Cafe. They do have Texas Chainsaw Massacre memorabilia on the second floor, so you can look at pictures of a family of cannibals enjoying their dinner before you enjoy yours.

Believe it or not, that's not the only weird transformation of past horror movie locations either. Cracked has four more you won't want to miss as well.

50 Fantastic Bacon-Laden Treats For Your Thanksgiving Dinner

I know, I know, Halloween isn't over yet, so it's still a little early to start thinking about Thanksgiving, but if you plan on making all 50 of these great bacon-enhanced Thanksgiving recipes courtesy of Buzzfeed, you'll need to start shopping early in order to buy up all the bacon you can find in the grocery store.

Personally, I'm a big fan of bacon, but I have discovered that some Thanksgiving favorites are better without it -like green bean cassarole where the bacon just add saltyness and doesn't even enhance the crunch. I do recommend adding bacon and dried cranberries to your sweet potatoes for some some serious flavor enhancement though.

Othello Needs Some Moral Support

Reader Lorena Landeros is the most recent person to submit a picture of her pet in a Halloween costume to jill@neatorama.com. Unfortuantely, her adorable little adopted lab/husky/who-knows-what else, Othello, just doesn't believe this costume his mom bought at the local Goodwill is very flattering. While Lorena has tried to convince him that he looks absolutely adorable as a pumpkin, he's just not buying it.

Perhaps a little encouragement from all of us can help calm his insecurities. I assure you Othello, you are one of the cutest pumpkin puppies I've ever seen and I'm sure many of our readers will agree with me here.

I Now Pronounce You Victim And Wife

What's more romantic than a stroll in the country with your fiance? Well, if you're this couple who was photographed by Brandon Gray, apparently getting murdered by Jason is the epitome of romance. At least, I assume that's why they chose to include the serial killer striking down and killing them in their engagement photo series.

While I tease, I actually think this is pretty cool. Part of being a geek couple is celebrating your shared interests and I wholly support doing this during your wedding and all the preparation you put into your wedding and these kinds of photos are just this. Besides, you can always send the pre-murder photos to your grandma and other relatives that just "wouldn't get" the whole serial killer photo series thing.

Oh The Super Hu-Manatees

We've previously featured Joel Harris' great superhero manatees last year, but he's been at it again and now he's added a whole series of X-Men manatees to the collection, like Storm...

and Wolverine. It's about time these peaceful sea cows could defend themselves from others. Maybe it would stop them from being so endangered or at least stop people from molesting them, but then, I guess if they weren't so sweet and docile, they wouldn't be the loveable, huggable manatees we've all grown to love.

This Is How to Get Into Character for Halloween

(Video Link)

When sitting on the bench, this costume actually looks rather wolflike and fairly uncreepy. When the wearer is actually moving around though, the effect is pretty horrifying in a werewolf kind of way. This would be a great Halloween costume certain to give nightmares to anyone who saw it in action.

The impressively real suit, made by Youtube user radywolf, is made from faux fur that was airbrushed with wolf coloring. Even more impressive -he completed the piece when he was only 19.

You Know You Want One: Loaded Nacho Grilled Cheese Sandwich

What's better, loaded nachos or grilled cheese sandwiches? It's a hard decision as each has its benefits, but now you don't have to decide thanks to the heavenly blend between the two dubbed the "Loaded Nacho Game Day Grilled Cheese" by its creator, BS In The Kitchen.

The magnificent taste sensation adds black beans, salsa, olives, cilantro, avocado, jalapeno, scrambled eggs, nacho Doritos, tomatoes, seasoned ground beef, green onions and sour cream to an already melty, gooey grilled cheese sandwich. The only thing that would make this sound even better (at least, to me) would be a little carne asada in place of the ground beef -just like what you find on the best nachos.

Gracie and Leo Fight Off Spooky Spiders

(Video Link)

We've featured videos from Gracie, Leo and Tommy before, but usually they're such happy, cheerful affairs, even Tommy's previous Halloween video was filled with lively fun. This time it's a real horror story, or at least as close as it gets for this family of critters.

Will they fall prey to these attacking arachnids? Or will these kitties come out on top? Only time will tell...though I'm sure you could probably guess the outcome considering they're fake spiders and this is just a silly and cute pet video. Really, these two seem to think the spiders are just great toys.

Damn Spider-Man, You're Looking Good

I've seen some clever takes on super hero costumes and some crazy burlesque costumes, but I've never seen a Spider-Man burlesque costume before -especially with a fans prepared for the classic fan dance. Photographer David Ngo spotted this sexy Spider-Lady at this year's Dragon Con. One can only hope that she actually is a real burlesque dancer and developed a specialty routine for this outfit.

If you happen to recognize this lovely lady and know if she is a real burlesque dancer, let us know in the comments as we'd love to verify whether or not this is an act we could hope to see in the future.

12 Fantastic Family Halloween Costumes

One of the great things about being a new parent is getting to geek out with your youngsters who actually think you're pretty cool...at least until they hit about 12 and suddenly decide you are the lamest person on earth and that anything you enjoy must be the worst thing ever. That's why you've got to get in your family Halloween costumes while you can. If you still need some ideas for your family's costume, or if you just want to see what other clever parents have come up with, you won't want to miss this fun Oddee article with 12 fantastic families in matching costumes.

20 Amazing and Creative New Foods at the Arkansas State Fair

Is there anything better than a banana split? Perhaps a deep fried banana split! And that's just one of the amazing new foods featured at this month's Arkansas State Fair. If you want more enjoyable sweet treats, you should check out the deep fried Rice Krispie treats.

I'm also quite interested in the deep fried cream cheese filled sausage balls, which sound (and look) a little disgusting, but if you're one of us who think that anything is better with cream cheese and pretty much anything is better when deep fried, then it certainly has potential to be utterly amazing.

The Cutest Pet Costumes On Etsy

Whether you love seeing pets in costumes or are still desperately searching for ideas for your own critter's costumes, this great Etsy blog post is sure to put a smile on your face as it includes all of the best handmade Halloween costumes for pets on their site -which is filled with great handmade pet costumes. We've actually featured a few of their cute costumes, like the chinchilla bug that was in our non-dog costume round up, but most of them are still new and totally adorable. I'm a particularly a big fan of this spooktacular doggy headband from ilickyou.

13 Great Pieces of Haunted Mansion Fan Art

When Halloween rolls around, I can’t help but think of Disney’s Haunted Mansion. Of course, if you actually visit Disneyland this time of year, you’ll be treated to The Nightmare Before Christmas version, which is great, but still not the classic we’ve all come to love. So, since no one can enjoy the traditional version of this great attraction in person, we may as well enjoy it through art. While a few famous artists, like Shag, have been commissioned by Disney to create artwork based on the Haunted Mansion, the most heartfelt creations are those by fans with nothing but love to motivate them. Here are a few of our favorites:

Your New Ghost Hosts

Here’s a creation that does a great job branching between the Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion with the original by imagining Jack and Sally dressed up in the iconic ensembles worn by the ride’s cast members. Artist Brianna Garcia also did a great job illustrating the famous bride from the Haunted Mansion in this piece.

Happy Haunts Materialize

Adam Taula’s take on the Haunted Mansion is quite refreshing. It not only just shows the exterior of the building, but it also illustrates just how creepy the building itself is.

A Villainous Turn of Events

There are a whole lot of fan tributes to the stretching portraits and a lot of them are good, so you’ll just have to excuse the number of them in this article. With that in mind, it’s hard not to love seeing DeviantArt user smallvillereject’s version with some of the many classic Disney villains. Humorously, Madame Medusa’s positive relationship with her pet alligators makes the tightrope portrait take on a whole new vibe.

Is Toy Story Actually Stretching?

Similarly, I don’t think Jesse has much to worry about as long as Rex is the only “monster” under her tightrope. And this time, Hamm is pretty much OK as well, considering a barrel of monkeys isn’t exactly as dangerous as dynamite. If Woody weren’t dead in this scenario, Chris Raimo’s Toy Story mashup wouldn’t even be all that spooky.

Finally A Snuggie With Style

Snuggies may be comfortable, but they aren't exactly cool and fashionable...at least, until now. This TARDIS Snuggie could keep you warm while you enjoy a Doctor Who marathon at home or help you enjoy your role in the most comfortable Whovian cosplay at your next convention.

While Crafty Lil' Thing doesn't have any patterns available to help you make your own, she did add a lot of pictures that might help if you decide to create your own or create one for an impossible-to-shop-for Whovian friend. This would also make a great gift for your favorite Neatorama writer...hint hint.

8 Clever Cosplays that Would Make Great Halloween Costumes

Oh snap! That's right, it's an Oregon Trail costume. Now that's something I'd be into wearing, but I don't have the technical skills needed to build the wagon that's critical to the costume.

No worries though, that's only one of the 8 great costumes on this list of creative cosplays by Fashionably Geek. The N67 cartridge is also pretty amazing, though you'll need some serious makeup skills to actually pull it off. The list also includes a few other great ones we've featured before, including Jayne's Hat, zombie Audrey Hepburn and 221B Baker's Street, but it's been a while since we put those posts up, so they'll still seem pretty new and exciting to most of you.
