Now That's How You Do A Dalek Costume

Go to any convention these days and you're bound to see plenty of Daleks, but Costume Works reader Michelle might just have made the ultimate Dalek costume for her little Whovian daughter. That's because it doesn't just have a great outer shell, but it even has a gross, shriveled Dalek body bursting from the inside.

And, if you look closely, the little girl inside is wearing a red dress, which could be a shout out to everyone's favorite Dalek minded human -Clara Oswin Oswald. Best of all, her sister even went as a TARDIS. If I saw these two trick or treating on my street, I'd just give them the whole bowl of candy and tell all the other kids I just ran out because these two won Halloween.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Baby

Oh sure, she might look totally vulnerable, but this baby isn't just an infant, she's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Baby and yes, I know that makes no sense, but just shush and enjoy these adorable pictures.

Here comes trouble, but don't worry, this ninja baby knows how to hold her own. Just watch.

That's right, you don't want to mess with a pizza-eating baby that was raised in the sewers.

OK, this little gal isn't actually from the sewers. In fact, she's the daughter of Anthony Stuart, who has compiled a great series of funny photos of his babe on Daddy's Little Prop.

Amazing Costumes From the Thompkins Square Dog Parade

Whether you like silly, topical or just amazingly intricate dog Halloween costumes, you'll love the great costumes from the Thompkins Square Dog Parade. Participants dressed as everything from Andy Warhol to hot dog stands to geishas. The lovely lady above is Sharknado Barknado and below, it's Anthony Weiner in all his glory.

There was an odd prevalence of lobsters this year. In fact, this little pooch was cooking up a pot of lobster soup made from his brother.

If you like elaborate costumes though, it's hard to beat this amazing chihuahua Mayan though. I doubt he was able to walk around in this get up, but at least mother was there to carry him the whole day.

Don't miss the Huffington Post coverage of the event, which has dozens of great pictures. And don't forget, it's not too late to send in your pet Halloween costume photos to jill@neatorama.com.

What's In A Name?

These days, parents are taking names from Game of Thrones and looking to Norse gods like Thor for naming inspiration, but if you really want your boy to be cool, just name him Bruce.

Don't Lose Your Head Over This Cuteness

A few years ago, the Marie Antoinette costume was the hotness for human costumes, but I have yet to see a dog dressed as the world's most famous headless heiress. That is, until now. Thanks to reader Stella Mask, I now know how amazingly adorable a little chihuahua can look as Ms. Antoinette. Unfortunately, while it took Stella hours to make this impressive dress, it only took little Devereaux a minute to shred the costume apart as though she was "eating cake." But hey, at least she looked fantastic during this costume photo session.

Prepare for the Worst: The Shining Hotel Is Digging Up a Pet Cemetery

This is not a Halloween scary story or a new Stephen King novel, the hotel that inspired The Shining, The Stanley Hotel, has recently announced that they will be digging up a historical pet cemetery on their premesis. The plan is to dig up the 12-grave cemetery in order to make room for a wedding and corporate retreat pavilion, but as anyone familiar with Stephen King's work can attest, this plan will not go well and obviously people will end up dead and the plan will be cancelled long before the new construction can start. I just recommend you stay away from the hotel in the meanwhile.

Scroll Down To Riker

Scroll Down to Riker might just be my new favorite web toy. Essentially the website requires you to do what the site says and scroll down to see Star Trek The Next Generation's William T. Riker say something fantastic to you. If you're a lady who finds the actor Jonathan Frakes to be quite stunning, you might want to keep scrolling over and over until you get a nice "hey girl" style line to brighten your day. I sure wouldn't mind being his Counselor Troi, though personally, I prefer first-season, clean-shaved Riker than the bearded Riker used on this fun site.

Couture Fashion for Pet Rats

New York City is notorious for its small living spaces, which is why it makes sense that rats are catching on as pets in the city, since they take up such small spaces. And of course, if New Yorkers fall in love with something, you know they'll make it fashionable -including their rats. At the recent Fancy Rat Convention, New Yorkers showed off just how fancy their rats can be.

Because why should anyone settle for a boring, nude rat when they can have a chic, well-clothed one?

25 Fantastic Doctor Who Halloween Costumes

That's a pretty great TARDIS dress, but I'm really impressed by the girl in the background -I've never seen a Cassandra costume like this one. These aren't the only amazing Doctor Who costumes out there. In fact, Geek Sugar has a collection of 25 great Doctor Who costumes that are probably from conventions but would make epic Halloween costumes too. While there are tons of David Tennant costumes, and even though he's my favorite, it's actually quite refreshing to see people dressed as Christopher Eccleston or Peter Davidson. Also, I've never seen someone dressed as Donna Noble, which is also great -even if she just looks like a bride when not next to The Doctor.

These Doritos Are Kind of Cheesy, But Also Fancy

Love cheese and Doritos, but tired of Nacho Cheese Doritos? Then you just might love the new limited edition flavor just released in Japan - Camembert flavor. These tasty treats will be available from now until January 2014, but you'll have to get a hold of them by traveling to Japan or find someone from Japan to send you some if you want to try them.

InventorSpot questions the notion of having such a fancy, gourmet flavor on something as snacktastic and corny as Doritos, but as a huge fan of snack food and luxurious cheeses, I would love to try some of these tasty teats.

Captain Ain't Afraid of No Ghost

It's almost Halloween and reader Cassandra Gallegos did a great job meeting the deadline to finish her handmade Ghostbusters costume on time. Captain, her precious little chihuahua mix, might not look too excited to be decked out for ghostbusting, but that's just because he's too cool for your Halloween games. He knows you don't have to dress up to actually bust ghosts.

Don't forget, if you want to see your pooch, kitties or other critters in costumes on our site, be sure to send your cute pictures to jill@neatorama.com.

Always Bring A Towel

If there's anything The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy teaches us, other than the importance of the number 42, it's that you never want to forget a towel. With that in mind, this fantastic messenger bag by Nerd By Night will ensure that you always have a towel wherever you go and an easy place to carry your Hitchhiker's Guide wherever you go. Best of all, the site even has directions on how to make your own bag.

If you bring this to high school, no one will get it, but if you want to be cool in college, this bag is certain to get you noticed by all the right people.

Just Call Her Princess Vader

I think I just found my Halloween costume. Just kidding, you really can't get away with this kind of adorable costume if you're over the age of 10 -as much as I wish I could. Although, I still wouldn't be surprised if I saw someone copying the idea at Comic Con.

This three year old's fairy princess Darth Vader even has sparkly Tie Fighter wings, making every aspect of the ensemble quite well coordinated and quite perfect for any young geek girl. Just imagine the Imperial March play when this little gal walks down the street.

Happy Little Clouds With Happy Little Dogs

Reader Tanah Snyder was inspired by all of our recent animals in costumes posts (all from readers like you who sent in their submissions to jill@neatorama.com), so she tried to get her critters into the Halloween spirit with her.

Since Tanah is going as Bob Ross this year, she wanted her critters to match. Unfortunately, her kitty just wasn't comfortable posing as a happy tree, but at least Chumley, Tanah's adopted English bulldog, is all too excited to dress up as a soft, comfy cloud -at least, as long as he gets treats as a reward. The two make quite a cute costumed couple.

Gandalf Has Some New Looks

Oh Gandalf the Gray, you're looking pretty shoddy these days. Twitter user and Hobbit fan Denise recently Tweeted this picture of the epic Gandalf the Gray lint art she created on laundry day. Of course, we know what happens to Gandalf the Gray when things go too badly...

Say Hello to Gandalf the Fabulous! This pinktastic creation is Redditor gnatman64's Halloween costume. If you think Gandalf the White was powerful, just imagine how much this version could do with the flaming power of Pepto Bismol coloring behind him.

Remember, you shall not pass -in that terribly drab ensemble.
