Guardians of the Galaxy fans have been super excited about the recently open ride over at Disney's California Adventure, but whether you have visited or not, you still should know about some of the amazing Easter eggs hidden in the line for the ride that are great for both Disney fans and Marvel fans alike. Many of these secrets are well hidden, but if you read this Travel and Leisure article, you'll at least know what to keep an eye out for.

The list has 25 Easter eggs, so you might not be able to remember them all, but it's still a great thing to read before your next trip to Anaheim.

Getting Dressed in the 1700s

You've seen tons of portraits of 18th century women like Martha Washington and Marie Antoinette, and while you know what their clothes look like, you probably have no idea how much work went into putting those dresses on.

This video shows just how complex it was to dress like a proper women of the 1700s and why any woman with the money absolutely had to have a maid to help dress her. One thing women didn't fuss with back then though -underwear, which is why the woman starts in her dressing gown.

If You Can't Stand the Heat, Stay Out of Arizona

Summer in Arizona is always pretty miserable, but the current heat wave is particularly awful. Temperatures have been getting as high as 120 degrees, which means asphalt can get up to 160 and car interiors can reach 200.

Those extreme conditions aren't just bad for people, they can also ground planes and destroy property. Over on The Daily Buzz, you can see a collection of pictures showing just how hot it is in Arizona. It's enough to make you enjoy the warm weather outside wherever you live -unless, of course, you actually live in AZ.

So see the Grand Canyon state in all its melty misery here.

This Grown Man Makes An Amazing Flower Girl

Patrick Casey and his cousin Andria Farthing were ring bearer and flower girl at a wedding when they were kids. When Andria got engaged, she and Patrick knew who should be the flower girl. The result was adorable without being overly silly -even when Patrick put down the basket and threw handfuls of flowers from his pockets.

He even included a throwback to the wedding they were in as children, saying “I used the same flower basket that she used when we were in that wedding together as children!”

Totally Innocent Things That Were Still Censored

When you look at this image, do you see George Washington nobly crossing the Delaware? Or do you see him showing off his erect penis? Well, one superintendent in the Muscogee County school district saw an erect penis and believed that for the good of his students, the painting featured in 2000 of his district's textbooks needed to be censored, so he had an art teacher paint over the offensive area in each of the books.

And that's just one example of absolutely ridiculous examples of censorship featured on this TopTenz article. Also of note is the fact that Hitchcock actually had to fight to keep a toilet flush in the movie Psycho.

So don't miss 10 examples of innocent things being censored here.

Fake Names Celebrities Like to Use At Hotels

(Say My Name by Raffiti)

Celebrities can't just check into a hotel under their real name unless they want to be mobbed. That's why so many famous people use aliases when they check in. The name they choose is rarely random though and it can often say a lot about who they are -or at least how they want people to see them.

Some celebrities like to go a little silly with their names -for example, Brad Pitt likes to use the moniker "Bryce Pilaf"and Johnny Depp is a fan of "Mr. Drip Noodle, Mr. Oddpong and Mr. Stench." Justin Timberlake's go-to name is a bit more clever as he likes to use "Mr. Woodpond." Meanwhile, Kid Rock's name is a tribute to Batman as he goes by "Dick Grayson" -Robin's birthname.

Former Disney Employees Discuss the Craziest Things They Saw on the Job

Disneyland may be the "happiest place on earth for visitors," but for employees, things are different. Over on Reddit, past Disney park employees recently discussed the most outrageous things they ever saw on the job. For those who think the Mouse represents a squeaky clean image, you might be surprised what those employees have seen. For example:

I worked on a ride where there was a holding area before the main room and ride. One night before close, apparently a guest had taken a shit in the holding room and everyone else tracked it through out whole queue and ride. We had to close early and every inch of our whole ride was sanitized that night. A guest seriously asked me, "There's poop on my flip flops... what do I do...?"

Many employees start off innocent when they come in, but then things like this change that:

[My] manager that told me I wasn't happy or cheerful enough so I should come in early to do a line of "pixie dust" before work. I showed up early to be a smartass, walk into her office and found her and a server doing lines of cocaine off the counter. I transferred as soon as I could but it was the same stuff in all the other areas as well. Disney still holds the title of most exciting job I've had. Over those 6 years I was assaulted, groped, bribed, spit at, whored out, and drugged. It was my sex, drugs, rock and roll experience.

Real Laws That Are Absolutely Absurd

Bureaucracy is a nightmare and it's not uncommon for stupid laws to become enacted even when they aren't ever actually enforced -or even can't be enforced legally. TopTenz recenly rounded up ten absolutely absurd laws (most of which are in the US) and you won't believe some of them. For example, in Utah, patrons can't see someone make their drinks because poor children might somehow be corrupted by witnessing someone make a martini, but not watching someone drink it. In 13 states, athiests can't run for office -except, they can according to the Supreme Court so none of these laws are valid.

So check out the full list of ten laws you won't believe are real over on TopTenz.

The Best Movie Posters From the Last 10 Years

A good movie poster will intrigue potential viewers by revealing just enough about the movie to draw someone in without giving away any spoilers.

Of course, a good poster should also incorporate great artwork and this list of movie posters with the best artwork from the last decade is a great look at how drastically different artwork can be while still looking amazing and serving to attract people to go see a new film.

Even if you don't like some of the movies, you can still enjoy the impressive design choices that went into making it.

So check out the full list of 50 posters here.

The Alaskan Harbor Where Eagles Scavenge Like Seagulls

Most of the time when you see pictures of bald eagles, they look beautiful and majestic -like in the picture above. But over at Dutch Harbor, the bald eagles live like common seagulls, snagging food from residents' hands, picking out scraps from the trash and munching on the fish left on fishermen's boats.

In other words, they're anything but majestic symbols of patriotism in Dutch Harbor. You can see pictures of the scavenging eagles over on Wired.

This Dog From Seattle Rides the Bus By Herself to go to the Park

Dogs are allowed to ride on the bus in Seattle when their humans come with them -the exception being Eclipse, who is actually allowed to ride the bus to the dog park all by herself with her own bus pass. It all started when her owner would take her to the park and get distracted at the bus stop -he would often miss the bus, but little Eclipse would jump on the bus and go to the park without her dad. Eclipse's owner would have to catch the next bus and meet her at the park later.

Eventually, this happened enough times that Eclipse was given her own bus pass and given permission to just go to the park by herself. Her dad always catches up eventually, but Eclipse now has full independence to get there on her own time.

If you have school-aged kids, then they're almost certainly out for summer. While some parents let their kiddos do whatever they want during summer break, those looking to keep the younster's minds stimulated might want to head over to Instructables and check out these six summer science projects that are interesting, educational and fun. They can learn about magnetic slime, flower disections, robotics and more!

So if you have kids sitting around bored and forgetting everything they learned last year in school, don't miss this great list.

Ex-Teachers Reveal What Made Them Quit Teaching

Teaching isn't always easy and while it can be emotionally rewarding, it certainly isn't financially so -and sometimes, it's not even emotionally rewarding. Over on Reddit, ex-teachers recently discussed what it was that made them stop teaching and the answers are equal parts revealing and depressing.

One of the worst examples:

I was in one of the worst schools in the nation... one day a little 6 year old girl told me that she and her sisters were being sold to men every night for as long as they could remember. I think something broke inside me that day. When I went to the principal to discuss a course of action (calling police, DFACS, etc.) she said she wanted me to keep my mouth shut. She was tired of her school "looking bad".

Edit: because so many people are asking, I immediately called the police and DFACS. The principal was later arrested on drug charges. But I had already quit at that point.

Another heartbreaking story:

I had a 6-year old pull a knife on me while screaming "I will kill you". This was the culmination of a lot of various incidents with the same kid. What was most infuriating was the parents claiming they had the sweetest little boy and that we (the school) must be liars for saying otherwise. Eventually he was transferred to a special school after we filed a report on the various incidents.

John Lithgow Could Have Played the Joker

(Image via David Shankbone)

It's hard to imagine anyone else besides Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman, but as it turns out, he wasn't actually Burton's first choice. Instead, John Lithgow was his first choice. Lithgow turned down the role (as did Jack Nicholson at first), but now he regrets it, saying he had no idea the role would be so big. I'm sure it also didn't hurt that thanks to a profit-sharing agreement, Nicholson earned an amazing $50 million from the film.

You can read what John Lithgow had to say about the whole thing on Vulture.

This Police Dog Was Fired for Being Too Nice -So He Was Given a Better Job

Not every pup that enters police dog training actually graduates. If their temperment is wrong or if they can't focus, they are kicked out of the program and adopted out to loving families. I even once owned a drug-sniffing dropout who had doggy ADHD and she was a great dog even if she wasn't fit to serve.

Over in Australia, Gavel the dog had a similar story after getting booted from the police training program for being too darn nice. But Gavel spent his very early life at the official residence of the Queensland governor and when he became a dropout, he was quickly given a new home and a new job at his former residence -even requiring him to sign an official contract.

Gavel is now the Vice-Regal Dog, where he brings cheer to countless officials and visitors as a charming animal ambasador. "We hope Gavel's with us for a long, long time into the future,” Governor de Jersey said.

You can read more about Gavel at Travel and Leisure or follow his adventures on the official Instagram of the Queensland Governor
