Relief of temporary pain is definitely a valid reason. That's why the painkiller industry is a multi-billion dollar industry!
I have nothing against chiropractic myself (though I've never gone to a chiropractor). I've heard from a friend who used to get chiropractic adjustments regularly is that that even though it works, soon after he'd need to go again (and again, and again). But once he stopped and toughed out the pain for a while, whatever ailed him sort of resolved itself. Dunno if that's a common thing in chiropractic though.

I miss Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers! They're the best part of NPR. They're funny and down to earth - you'd never guess that both of them actually graduated from MIT.

If there's food, there are rodents. All fast food restaurants have those mice traps circling their buildings.

It's interesting to read about the "super-aging" society in both rural and urban areas of Japan.

On the whole, yes, China has a lot of people right now. But lowered birthrates mean that there's going to be a future economic problem where there's a lot of older people of retirement age and a lot less younger people of working age. I think the government recognized that, and is trying to re-balance the population mix (to what degree of success, I don't know).

Hah! I see what you did there, JoeD.
I find that amongst all of the medical professions, dentists are actually quite quick to utilize new technologies. This procedure will likely be an in-office treatment that they will offer as soon as it's approved medically.

You're right! I still remember the vapers' arguments that it's better than smoking cigs and thought that well, I suppose they're right: it's better to hit yourself in the head with a smaller mallet than a large hammer ... but why hit your head at all?

If there's no water, isn't it kind of weird to call it a "salt lake"? Shouldn't it be called a salt flat?

Remember when the British Navy weaponized Britney Spears music to scare off Somali pirates?

At least it's not a "I survived being ejected from a plane and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" t-shirt!

With a name like E. Lee, it's only natural that he'd paint Wile E. stuff!

Good of you to adopt from a shelter! We got our cat from a rescue group - she was the cutest kitten ever!
