nicholas-- what a great analysis. if nobody else commented on this, it would be ok because yours justifies the very essence of this post. kudos.
this would have been perfect to bring in to my women's studies class last spring. they would have torn it APART! of course, they tore me apart when i said slutty girls have it coming... but that's an entirely different story.
although stereotypical to say, they were probably drunk. everything is a good idea when you're drunk. but after they spent the 125,000 on it, they surely weren't going to change their minds. so why not be prideful? welcome to scotland!
regarding the epilepsy-inducing olympics logo: hilarious. i can only imagine: jim and ted knew they had something special, but they needed their collegues' opinions. after the showing of the new 2012 olympics logo, the audience was moved. so moved that their epilepsy had been triggered and 4 of them were rushed to the hospital.
what a cute kitty! he would get along great with my kitty.. at least until he got bigger than my kitty and made him breakfast... but they can still be friends.
that is soo cute! i wonder.. when you're looking in the rear-view mirror, do you see the puppy's face? or is it just a sillhouette? or is it transparent and you just see the back? it's a mystery!
just like the supposed "war on drugs," telling someone they can't have something: a) only makes them want it more b) doesn't affect whether they can obtain it, legally or not, and c) does not teach them responsibility.
the real problem in this country (beyond this discussion) is as simple as this: people do not take responsibility for themselves and their actions. and who teaches responsibility? parents, teachers, friends, and good role models. not the government.
i personally don't like guns and i don't believe that they solve any problems, nor will i ever own a gun. BUT- if you want to protect yourself, i think you have every right to own one. sweden (it may be swirzerland.. i may be wrong.. either way, one of the "S" countries in europe) is the most gun laden country in the world- they also have the lowest rate of violence. they also have a different standard of living. different culture. different government. but i know european living is much more about teaching RESPONSIBILITY and focusing on quality of life. maybe we should adopt their parenting skills.
similar story... when i was in 4th grade, we had a class mouse that was white. after a long polling of potential mouse names, we decided on "spooky" because he was a white mouse, yunno, like a ghost. we got lots of parent complaints because it was too close to "spook," a common racial slur against black people way back when. so, we had to change the name. i forget when we ended up calling it, but "spooky" was apparently offensive... to the parents who didn't even have to interact with this mouse...
now that i think of it, wouldn't that be a great way to get rid of racial slurs and maybe racism altogether? if you don't tell your children what the words mean, they won't know the difference because they won't use those words and offend anybody. am i wrong?
isn't every mans' sex fantasy a room (or in this case, an entire office building) full of skantilly clad asian women?
i guess it would have been gender neutral if the men had to wear something comparable... but men just don't look hot in lingerie. maybe they should have shaved their bodies and wore man-thongs. that would have been an interesting day...
these recordings NEVER sound good. it would have been great to actually see the band perform because the recording quality never does any justice for the big band sound. i remember back in my high school marching band all the parents would rant and rave about how well we did, but when we went back and watched the tape, we were AWFUL.
@Geekazoid: this trend will retire when clothing goes out of style. chin up- in twenty years you'll be saying "remember when EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOM covered the old-school video game theme songs in every medium available? those were the days..."
that castle is right down the street from my boyfriend's parent's house. it's kinda neat because it's down the crazy hills of loveland and it sits back in the trees a little bit.
Although I sadly lost my mom last year in the rare incident of a suburban murder-suicide, I'm thankful for having had her the 20 years I did. I'm thankful for having had her influence and free-spirited upbringing, as I feel I can carry on her legacy the way she would have wanted. I'm thankful for my father, two older brothers and the fantastic friendships I have accumulated over the years. I'm thankful for my loving boyfriend, whom I'm hoping to spend my life with, and my cute kitty that brings a smile to my face every time he looks at me with an implication that he has NO idea what's going on. Evar. Lastly, I'm thankful for whatever God invented THC. Oh yea- I'm tankful for Neatorama too, for I would be lost without its randomness, and I would be VERY bored at work. Thanks Neatorama.

btw- i'm going to hell for saying this.
