Awesome... but still too much rummaging. We sort ours (around 130,000 elements) in smaller drawer systems with a detailed labeling system to make identifying and pulling much faster. Easier on the pieces themselves too (avoiding scratching/scuffing) since you aren't scrounging them around in bins against one another.
My immediate guess (as an amateur wookworker, very little metalwork experience) was that each actually used 2 coins. The pres was ground/cut out of one, no worries about keeping the pres part pretty... only the surrounding coin would matter and be kept intact, and then the background was cut/ground away from the other. Leaving one with a hole and the other with just the pres "cut out".
I have always said "Money buys not having to worry about money".... Not exactly happiness, but a huge stressor removed. I do very well at this point in my life and can easily compare the peace of mind of not having to worry about making the rent etc. to the constant worry of my younger years. Money does buy (a certain shade of ) happiness.
Heh. For a moment I thought "Uh, that dishwasher doesn't look very vintage to me, my friends just put that exact model in their home a couple of years ago"... before I looked through the entire album and saw that the stainless steel one shown above isn't the one you were referring to. :P
They may have started that way... but I distinctly remember coming home from grade school in 1977-1978, cracking open Hunt's snack pack pudding (in pull top cans) and watching Sigmund, the Bugaloos, Space Nuts, etc. Syndication, I'm assuming.
Wow... now this poor guy is *never* going to get out of doing anything on the honey-do list. "I really don't feel like it, sweetie" "BUT I GAVE YOU A KIDNEY!!!!"
Totally remember it... along with other S&M Krofft productions... Space Nuts, Land of the Lost, Lost Saucer, Electra woman and Dyna girl, Dr Shrinker, Wonderbug, Bugaloos, etc etc. I miss those after-school afternoons of the mid-late 70s. :)
I "know" Eric (via the AFOL community). Great to see new work from him.
