Odd Reboot Announcement of the Day: Sigmund and the Sea Monsters

Amazon has announced they'll be remaking that surreal 70s children's television show Sid and Marty Krofft's Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. What's more is, they'll be makiing it with the Kroffts themselves. Amazon studios Vice President told TVLine,

“Sid and Marty are geniuses, and we are honored to be working with them to bring to the world a return of what we believe is TV’s most fabulous and funniest sea creature ever.”

Does anyone remember this show? Yes, it really happened. It wasn't a dream you had after a heavy meal or a wild party. Read more and refresh your memory with a (blurry) video at io9.

They may have started that way... but I distinctly remember coming home from grade school in 1977-1978, cracking open Hunt's snack pack pudding (in pull top cans) and watching Sigmund, the Bugaloos, Space Nuts, etc. Syndication, I'm assuming.

Totally remember it... along with other S&M Krofft productions... Space Nuts, Land of the Lost, Lost Saucer, Electra woman and Dyna girl, Dr Shrinker, Wonderbug, Bugaloos, etc etc. I miss those after-school afternoons of the mid-late 70s. :)

Yea! All those Syd and Marty Krofft shows were great! Not just Sigmund, but don't forget the trippiest one that started the whole thing, HR Puffnstuff: The Lost Saucer, Far Out Space Nuts, The Land of the Lost, The Bugaloos (such a crush on Joy!), The Banana Splits, and so many more. I really hope Amazon does this justice (no cheap CG, stuff like that).
