It also made me discover www.signingtime.com (whose Rachel Coleman has been nominated for the "Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series" Emmy award. Great website.
@Shea : Youtube filtered by an adult can be a different and complementary way to open kids eyes to the world. Planes, trucks, animals, musical instruments, etc. I play a game where I ask "what do you want to see?" and we start from there. The control in duration and quality makes it different from your average brainwashing Tv kid show... I also read to them every night ;) (and I agree -even if I don't care, I'm French ;) - that Youtube is becoming boobtube)
From wiki : "In accordance with American journalistic tradition, the public announcement of Russert's death was withheld by both the wire services and his network's competitors. After Russert's family had been notified [..] Tom Brokaw delivered [...] the news of his passing"
Hu? so journalists have a double standard, crushing anybody's family's heart right away but having a soft spot for themselves?...
There are similar laws in France, as well as automatic radars. They both represent more than 400 million euros of [new] taxes for the state (+$600m). The lastest find is a police officer disguised as a regular biker : he waits on the side of the road, looking harmless, but he specialises in spotting people using their phones while driving. Owned, yes.
Tried to read everything but the post was too hot ;)
Anyway, I googled 'western cliche' and I think we should add this sentence to the article : "There's a shootout between some drunken cowpokes over at the old corral, the schoolmarm's been kidnapped by the Boulder Gang, a dying rider with an arrow in his back says that the Indians have attacked a passing wagon train, and Deputy Bob's got a bullet in him but Old Doc's passed out from too much whiskey. Just the start of an average day for a Sheriff in the Old West."
:)
08er's?
I'm clueless.
