I'd say there are still a lot more questions than answers. And there are differences between out-of-body experiences and near-death experiences. The former can be induced by meditation, for example. And the latter often involves spiritual visions. The mechanism for what causes those wasn't even explored here.

In any case, I doubt they'll become extinct. Especially not as soon as 2060. That would mean that none of the redheads who are having kids today would pass on the gene and have little carrot-tops of their own. Seems unlikely.
Doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. People (and other animals) sometimes do dumb things as a result of fear. Why does anyone think that giving robots emotions would be a GOOD thing?
