According to my son, I make the best PB&J's in the world. Jif and boysenberry. But the true secret is in the PB to J ratio.

You must have control over the ratio.

47 seconds. Which is way too long. Can I just have a massive stroke and be done with it?

Would the results be different if we were chained to a day bed with a trundle?

It's called a live-in housekeeper. I don't know about elsewhere, but in the US it is illegal to specify gender when hiring an employee. Offering lodging for services counts as hiring.

Poor General Hooker. He was, allegedly, a ladies man but was not responsible for the term "hooker." However, the Massachusetts State House has an entrance named after him. The result is many signs with arrows leading you to the "General Hooker Entrance." I guess specialized hookers use a separate entrance.

Those pictures were taken right down the street from me. If anyone has the money to move buildings around it's Harvard. When I lived in Orlando they were extending the East/West Expressway and they had to move a bunch of houses out of the way. People got so tired of being late to work because they were stuck behind a house that they made new laws that said you could only move buildings during certain times of the day. It certainly is an impressive sight no matter how slowly they do it.

I grew up in FL but have loved in Boston/Cambridge for 17 years. I have a friend who grew up here and had a "wicked" accent. I never got to hear it because he had it teased out of him at Boston College of all places!

The first time I rode the T, I thought the conductor said "Knott's Station." It was "North Station."

Autism may or may not be overdiagnosed now, but it was definitely underdiagnosed in the past. My brother is a 52 year-old undiagnosed autistic. It is called a spectrum because there is such a broad range. Most of those people you made fun of in high school because they didn't "fit in" probably fall into the spectrum somewhere. It doesn't mean there is something wrong with them. It just means their brains don't process information, usually social cues and such, like the rest of us.

It is possible that the employees on that flight may need some kind of sensitivity training, but it is not the responsibility of the airlines to make sure their employees are able to deal with every type of disorder known to man. Every autistic kid is different. What may be soothing to one could set another one off.

Did she talk to anyone before the flight to let them know of any special needs? Did she tell them he will be more comfortable if his belt is a little loose? This type of interaction could have prevented the whole situation.
