There are weird things in Japan? Who would have thought?

More seriously, there is a Western fascination for asian Cultures, especially for Japan, where they are "modern" like us (with cars and fast food and high rise buildings) and yet they have really different outlook and mentality from us.

Also, Japanese people have a fascination with Western "culture" especially american culture. It goes both ways.

America america, too much coffee.

After the long list of chemical the little star says "Ingredients taken from the FDA's official report on pesticide residues in American fast food"

So those aren't ingredients. They are pollutants found in some food. You can probably find these in all the food we eat, water we drink and air we breathe.

And for the long conservation, you just need a clean, cool, dry environment. The meat in those McDonalds burger is cooked to death, there is little chance any bacteria survived, and if the air around is dry enough, it will pull the moisture out of it, diminishing the chance of mold growing on it. Also, the salt content is likely to be high and usually is a good deterrent for life.

It's not surprising those burgers survived. Now he should take a bite.

Oh, and I forgot to voice my opinion: yes, this is overpriced. Get your kid a regular bed and give the $45,000 saving to a useful charity or something. That will go way further to help your kid.

"Wonder how they justify THAT price."

They charge that much because they can. If it sells, it means people find enough value in the good. Eco101.

Your average car probably hosts $6,000 to $10,000 worth of raw iron, aluminium, plastic and glass, yet, that same amount of raw material can be transfomed into a $17,000 Chevy Malibu or $65,000 BMW M5.

The price of a good is not related to the cost of its material or fabrication.

Minnesota? Home of the Village People? I'm not entirely familiar with Minessota.

Now everybody sings along:

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

Wow, before the Internet this kind of pointless stunt would be called stupid. Now it's "art".

Funny comments though, and Paul, please, please someone thinks of the frozen peas!

It makes that kind law enforcement officer look even more badass, with his vaccum hose plugged on his chest.

Badass in a Village People kind of way that is.

Quite disturbing.

"What a cute teddy bear!"
"Yes, and it's made in China, by 6 years old girls"
"Awwwwwwwww, so cute!"
"Also, it contains the ashes of gran'ma. I miss gran'ma."
"Awwwwwwwww, good for her."

What kind of line of thought does it take to accept 'modern' market economy where you buy stuff but there is no provision for dealing with byproducts?

In this picture I see plastic bags, wrappers, styrofoam, the man is holding a glass bottle, all sign of modern living, yet, all the trash is tossed in a river.

I am puzzled.

It's difficult to gauge the amount of seriousness in Jenny's post... Putting dogs to work is something men have done for a very long time.

In any case, Jenny, you made me chuckle. And if you are completely serious, that would make me laugh a lot harder.

It's actually a great idea to get your dog some exercise. Dogs have a lot more energy to spend than us poor humans, and most breeds will leave us in the dust. I know my blue healer does not get tired nearly as fast as I do.

This is a pretty clever idea.
