Dog using a tool?

Isn't tool use one of the major skills that separate human beings from mere animals? Is there any reason why this dog's performance couldn't be considered tool use? Link on YouTube.

What about those sign language "speaking" apes? It sounds like a language to me. It looks symbolic to me. Who's the animal? We're animals. All of us. Humans = animals.

The major distinguishing feature between animals and humans is the use of language. There is no other animal that can construct grammatical sentences. Grammatical is key, some birds can learn nouns and verbs, but it's the use of syntax (particularly the symbolic aspects) that separates us from animals.

Actually, I believe it's that humans can create their own tools. Chimpanzee's use sticks and stones all the time, but they barely modify them, at most trim down the sticks.
