Chuck Yeager is my hero. I'm applying to be a Pilot in the Air Force this year and I'm doing a lot of brushing up on my history. One of my favorite things is hearing the sonic boom from the plane breaking the sound barrier. It's very cool.

@Lisa
The economy isn't THAT bad.. I'm doing alright :)

"It amazes me that there are still people sticking up for Bush and his cronies after what has happened to our country since they took over."

What's happened to our country that has been so bad? A failing economy in his last year in office? Hmm, I guess that's about it. Let's not forget that our economy was pretty strong up until 2008, and that's after the market crashed in 2001 after TERRORISTS ATTACKED OUR COUNTRY!

It amazes me that there are still people out there blaming Bush for everything, as if 1 man has single handedly ruined the lives of everyone. Lets not forget that the House and Congress also make decisions and that the congress was Democrat controlled during these economic woes.

I'm not an Obama supporter in the least, but I have to say that you need to give him a few days to start making his promises effective. The first week will be a very telling time in his Presidency, but pay very close attention to what happens in the first 100 days. This is where we will get to see whether or not he'll live up to his lofty promises during the campaign.

The economy isn't going to get back to where it was in just a month or two, it'll take time.

You can't just close a Gitmo and expect everything to be OK. There are processes that need to happen and people that need to be moved. It's not just an overnight kind of thing.

The 'combat' troops will be out of Iraq by June 31st 2010, but they are just going over to Afghanistan anyways. Read the NYT this morning, it even says that there's another 30,000+ heading in. On that note, let me also tell you that just because the 'combat' troops will be out of Iraq doesn't mean that we'll be gone. We are actually re-titling these troops as 'trainers' and leaving some 30,000 more in Iraq beyond the 18 month deadline. So your beautiful thoughts and dreams of your beloved president pulling out of Iraq in 18 months is just that, thoughts and dreams. We're still going to be there and be there in force.

I'm also sad that Bush was so disrespected by the American people. I'll be the first to say that he wasn't the greatest Pres., but aren't you glad that you don't have to fear car bombs or suicide bombers in the streets? You can go about your life without a worry in the world? You may not like that he sent our country to war in Iraq, but I be you're glad that he implemented many systems that has kept Iraq from coming to war with us. How do we look to the outside world when the majority of us mock our leader for doing what is good and right?

Let's also not forget the opposition to the stimulus package that the Bush administration gave us last year because your beloved Obama is looking at a $850billion package right now, that is rumored to breach $1 trillion. I could sure use the cash, but is that any different than Bush's?

Speaking of money, anyone else not care that Obama's Inauguration cost around 3x as much as Bush's 2nd?! If it were McCain spending that much then we wouldn't hear the end of it! (Palin's campaign outfit budget anyone?)

So yeah, don't expect the changes overnight because that is just ignorant. Keep an eye on it over the next 3 months and see what comes about then. And don't forget that campaign promises are made just to get elected, don't be surprised if he can't keep them all.

"This is not a political blog..."

I agree with Sarah.. that image of him in this style has always creeped me out and made me think of a megalomaniac style image.

Yeah and the time I suggested a link about something anti-democratic I got an email with a link to a far left website bashing the link I suggested... Not political, maybe.. Unbiased? Definitely not.

Anyways, I'd buy the tp just for a chance to have Palin in my pants :O. J/K Don't tell my wife I said that lol.

I have Sallie Mae student loans totaling over $100k for an art degree so don't be knocking it!

Basically the kid got his education and decided to join the Marines. He could have been an officer, which you need a degree for.

Sallie Mae is right in that it still asked for the money because they still had to pay the school. It's not fair to always stick it to the lender. Now I will argue that the interest rate on the loans that Sallie Mae gives is pretty crazy. I'm paying almost 9% and over the course of the 30 years on my loan it'll total around $340k if I only make the minimum payments. So if you look at it that way then you can see they are making a pretty good deal of $ and a 53k forgiveness isn't too bad.. But when a lot of people are getting forgiven, you can see the problem.

To add to the fact that Sallie Mae sucks at customer service... They outsource their customer support to India. Not that they are bad people over there, it's just hard to communicate when the english they learn is not the same english we speak and it's tough to communicate properly. I finally got to the claims department and spoke to an American woman and she told me that all of Sallie Mae is based in America, even after I explained that I spoke to 4 different people with Indian accent. Poor customer service, but if that's the worst of it then whatever.

LOLOL I love that guy. That was the funniest description of riding a motorcycle ever.

I ride a 650cc Yamaha V-Star. Up until a week from now, I haven't needed a jacket and pants and gloves and such cuz I live in Florida. I just bought the bike ($3,250) and a $75 helmet. Current gas prices I can fill up my 3 gallon tank for $7.50 and go about 160 miles before I need to switch to my reserve. I gotta say, that's much cheaper than driving my car, even at 30mpg.

I'm about to buy a jacket, pants, and gloves because I'm moving to Baltimore, but still, you can get some nice gear at decent prices if you shop online. I'm going to get them all for under $200. It's been an investment that is paying off every day!

That's the deodorant I buy and I saw it like that a couple months ago. I thought the same thing as someone above, that maybe they were just counting on consumers not paying attention to price and buying the 2 pack.

Actually Shirt.Woot.com prints their T-Shirts on American Apparel t-shirts, which when bought in bulk cost upwards of $5 a shirt. Woot does REALLY high volume each day, so they may get an even bigger discount.

Shirt.Woot.com has a new shirt every day for $10 until its sold out or the day is over (midnight Central Time). You can continue to buy the shirt for $15 until they retire the shirt. Shirts are retired if after a certain amount of time they are no longer being bought.

Shirt.Woot.com gets all of their shirt ideas from users. Mon-Thurs they feature shirts from other t-shirt companies and designers. Fri, Sat, and Sun they feature shirts from a Woot derby where users submit their designs and are voted on. The top 3 winners get their shirts printed. They receive $1000 cash if their shirt gets printed and $2 a shirt for every shirt ordered after the first day.

In order to vote for a shirt, you have to have an account and have purchased something from Woot.com, Wine.Woot.com, or Shirt.Woot.com. They've also teamed up with Yahoo and created Sellout.woot.com.

So yes, they can put these shirts so low because they do such high volume. They've been doing Shirt.Woot.com for a year now and they've sold around $500,000 worth in t-shirts. Come on, can you beat $10 a shirt? No tax, no shipping!
