Looks just like a map of housing prices in the US. Makes sense, because when housing gets too expensive, people are forced to live farther away. Which leads to longer commute distances.
What a great idea! In the US, we waste a lot of money by paving shoulders, which sit unused most of the time. But the Germans have eliminated the need for a shoulder by having each lane donate half of its space in the middle. Simple and effective.
I guess film was so expensive in the old days that these bands couldn't afford to take a second photo. Recorded "LIVE"? Why is 'live' in quotation marks?
I hate that, too. A few weeks ago, my friend went to Walmart to get an oil change. The 'mechanic' there refused, saying he had to inspect her car first. She asked how much his inspection will cost. He said it depends on what problems he finds. She called me, not knowing what to do, and I told her to leave that Walmart now.
When I was looking at houses, I narrowed my list down to 3. Then I went to each one late at night, parked on a nearby street, and walked all around the neighborhood, listening for loud parties and loud dogs. Sure glad I did. Every neighborhood is quiet in the daytime!
