Hazy Davy's Comments
And now, it's recursive, since I've posted a link to my facebook wall, with a comment like, "Heading that shows I'm lazy to create original material."

I enjoyed it. Nobody got hurt, and some of the switches (double cone, giving change, jamming the confection in his mouth when the worker was left holding the cone) were nice twists.

A father/daughter dance is supposed to be sweet. And regardless of any willingness to make a fool of himself, or any choreography, or any particular skills, this wasn't sweet.
In fact, during the long intro, it was creepy, with him mouthing romanticisms (not father-daughter love phrases). The choreography, following that, reinforced the creepy.

Not all of these are bad.
to answer your question: my son was tremendously interested in the janitor's cart, and in all service delivery jobs. In fact, most kids I knew were interested in cash registers, janitor's trolleys, automatic car-wash processes, assembly lines, etc. Doesn't mean that's their dream job...they were intrigued by something. To say they shouldn't be reveals as much about the reviewer as it does about the children or the toy.

I think the assessment of Chicago's off. When I came back from there, I noted how strange it was that, whether on foot or in a car, Chicagoans were obsessed with *being in front of you*. On the sidewalk, people would rush to get in front of you, and then immediately slow down to a speed lower than the one you're walking.
It happened so much that, in my family, whenever we are cut off on the highway by someone who then slows down, someone always announces "they must be from Chicago".

Of course, it's also possible that people in a relationship begin to resemble each other (much as people and their pets are reputed to).
Cause and effect might be switched here.
(Or, it may be that you are more likely to be compatible with one who you *could* more easily adapt to resemble.)

Vegetarian for 23 years. Morningstar fake bacon tastes different than the "real thing", but satisfies the craving.
So this is bogus.
However, I can only resist the call of Italian dry salami for so long.

While it's impressive, I, too, am surprised he has all of his fingers. He seems to break all sorts of rules we learned in 7th grade shop.

1) There's a ton of detail on that map. I wonder how much of it is empirical data, and how much of it is fantasy... (For example, that On/Dawn/Don distinction for the SF Bay Area? I've lived in this area for 20 years, now, am not a native, and have never heard the middle pronounced any differently than the others, except by out-of-towners.)
2) Really? People in Southern Utah sound the same as people in Seattle?
Man, this is impressive, but I'd really like to know which bits to accept as truth... (And RAF, I don't think Moon Unit was ridiculing the accent she and her friends used. She was documenting it with exaggeration.)

Brilliant, wonderful, and useful.
("Useful, Hazy Davy?" you might ask. To which I'd say, "uhhh, yeah, one could create a beatbox transcription method, using this. Someone writing beat tracks could communicate exactly what they're looking for to the studio-beatboxer...)

So disappointed that others had the same idea of personal injury lawsuits...Apparently, I go for the obvious ones.

I'm wondering:
1) Why a student has that much cash in his backpack. (There are legitimate reasons; but I'd suspect he was in a cash-only business, as well.)
2) why intent matters to so many readers, when witnessing a good deed? Regardless of the reason, the returner did a good thing. Whether there was some hidden agenda speaks to how impressive it is he did a good thing. But it's a good thing, regardless.
(I'm not skeptical of all, personally. I realize that only a small fraction of the population would return it...but...well, I would. And the fact that so many of you think that's weird makes me sad.

However, it may perform (one of) the functions of piezoelectrics, which can either convert electrical energy into mechanical, or vice versa. (Not as a generator---you put voltage across it, and it bends, or you bend it, and it generates voltage.)
Now, if it already was converting heat into mechanical energy (e.g., by changing size or shape), then ...
