Actually it's the French that wanted to call Gothic architecture "in the French style," they thought they invented it. It didn't really begin to be called "Gothic architecture" until after it had gone out of style, back in the day "Goth" meant barbarian or plebian, something "Gothic" was barbaric. And the old styles of architecture certainly seemed barbaric in comparison to the new Classical Revival styles coming in from Italy by the time the Renaissance rolled around.
@Matt: There's a place in my heart for My Chemical Romance, but then again I'm neither emo nor goth.
I still find I have to use tables now and then, I can't get a DIV to center itself vertically and horizontally on the page relative to the window size, which is kind of a visual theme for my websites.
I see most accusations of copyright infringement as sort of a "get off my lawn" mentality. There's no harm being done but people like to tell others what they can and cannot do with their property. If someone were posting pictures I drew on their website or walking on my lawn, I'd tell them to stop simply because it's my property and I cherish the few chances I get to tell other people what to do.
I've got a glass--cutter and a soldering gun, I could probably do a bit of stained glass. I'm not sure if the things I'd come up with would raise or lower the property value of this house.

Besides, this isn't a new idea.
But then again, aside from "twelfth" I have no problem spelling properly. I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who can't spell.
