I used to work with a girl who said one of her best friends is named Pepsicola Marijuana after her mom's two favorite things. She called her "Pep" and told a bunch of normal friend type stories about her over a couple of years. I can't imagine that there are two people with that kind of name and she doesn't seem at all like the type to start an urban legend like that. Odd. I wonder if this woman went to Smith College.

Is that website trying to be serious? People have already taken it apart. All I wanted to touch on is that I've sniffed a pack of grapples and they smell really strongly like grape soda, nasty. They must sell, because they've been around for years but it can't be to convince a kid to eat fruit because even if they do taste like actual grapes--GRAPES ARE FRUIT TOO. I just don't understand.

When I was in college, they had us do a journal search for research articles about depression. The one on semen was the first article I found. I thought it was ridiculous that it was ever even published, dismissed it, and gave up on research articles for a very long time! Bizarre to see it here!

We've only identified approx. 5% of all the species on the planet right now. The rest? Live in the rainforest and the ocean, both of which we are destroying without concern that we'll never even know what once existed there. That includes cures for diseases we'll never find, as well.

New growth is good, but it can't replace all the things that go extinct whenever an ancient tree with it's own ecosystem (yes...some species are specific to a single tree!) is cut down. Do you know why they slash & burn? Some is for hardwood for furniture. Most is when starving farmers follow those trails, and ruin them to plant corn fields that just can't thrive in that new climate, so they fail and then they have to slash more. This is not over, Brazil just admitted they were cutting down 4 times more rainforest they had been owning up to.

Josh, saying the earth is constantly evolving is frighteningly ignorant in this case. People are an anomaly, we've bucked evolution by inventing tools that changed the world completely. We can cause more damage than we can repair. This is not evolution, it's not natural. If a rainforest turns into a desert, the seeds are still there right? If we slash and burn and carry away all the refuse, nothing can grow again. I'm not a perfect person who lives a pristine life, but I have some respect for the impact we have on ourselves. Climate change is natural, but the way we've impacted it is not, and we're the only ones who will care when the planet is unhospitable to us.

My point is that we should be careful when we don't know what we're dealing with, and we definitely have no idea of what kind of damage we are doing when we demand that our lifestyle continues without thinking of the consequences.

I got the murder one wrong, it seemed illogical, but I decided it might be a trick question thrown in there and went with how I'd decide on a jury instead. I almost failed college logic. This was pretty basic.

Oh, forgot another UPS story from when we lived at an apartment they could never figure out for some reason.

I got my fiance a pretty expensive blackberry for Christmas last year, and their website kept telling me it was delivered to an "office" to the wrong address (one that was close, but didn't exist and wasn't on the label) and that it was signed for by a woman there. When we called them and told them that address didn't exist, they said it was at our local UPS center and we could pick it up there. We went, it was nowhere, and they had to admit that they had lost it and pay the insurance (through the seller's claim, not ours--glad he was an honest guy). About 7 months later, I saw a package in bad shape sitting on top of the mailboxes in our shared mailbox area. Yep! Guess they had found it somewhere and dropped it off like no big deal. Happy ending, because the seller and I both got refunds, and eventually the gift showed up. They never asked for the money back.

My UPS guy knocks once, drops the package and literally RUNS back into his truck before you can get to the door. I saw him jet past the window *ducking down* before I could get to the door more than once, and I live in a small townhouse. The only time I actually had to sign for something is when I saw the truck pull up and met him at the door. Tight schedule? Maybe they don't want to wait for you to sign for it? A homeless dude once knocked on my door with a (legitmate)UPS package that he said he saw the delivery guy toss across the street. I don't mind the drop-and-run, but the tossing has got to stop.

Don't just fire the UPS carrier, try to educate them. Ignorance is unacceptable and aggression on top of it is just a bad combination.

I don't blame him. He was in the most popular band in history and if he's been answering for all these years, he's within his rights to stop, and it's nice of him to mention that any mail sent would be in vain. I don't think it was rude, especially when he's talking about signing things and sending them back. That's a lot of shipping. People discover the Beatles everyday, and I'm sure some of them want to write. Also, people want things signed just to sell, sometimes. I still love the Beatles, I still won't listen to Ringo's All-Stars (if that's what they're called now). No harm done.

Ha, I just tried that out by copy and pasting someone else's comment. It read "...I may not be gay, but damn..." as "...I may not be Georgia" and cut off the rest. Either there's a character limit, or they don't like the words gay and damn.
