@andiscandis: A natural laxative indeed! Suffering from vertigo, I think I'd s**t my pants. Or that toilet, of course.

@Gauldar: You might have a point there. Bat at least there's no people watching...

A shame really that this only works in a picture. Perception in RL unfortunately wouldn't be as it looks from this photo. Still very nice though!

Three suare, which equals 9, is written as 3 with a smaller 2 floating above to its right. (cant post that visually here, but everyone knows what I mean, right?)
That would make 3.2.9, Exactly The Day Before!

So... that's pretty special too. Or is it?

With the risk of sounding old: I say 2004 was the Best Squaroot Day EVER.

Oh boy, I still remember the massive festivities on February 2nd, 2004. How time flies!

By the way in nine days it's Pi Day: 3.14
The Big Party in 6 years: 3.1415

By the way, did anybody celebrate the start of the Second Millennium as such? (on 01.01.01? Yes, 2001...)

In 1961, famous ad man David Ogilvy made an ad in which this happened to a Zippo lighter. Also a 'true story: names, dates, location. And also: it still worked, at the first try...

Even earlier, in the 16th century, something similar happened to a Dutch saleswomen from the town of Stavoren, who herself threw a gold ring into the sea. Lo and behold: months later there was a fish on her plate, and her ring was inside it.

A very, very old meme, maybe?

PS. Just last month there was a post about an elderly Australian surfer, who lost his dentures 100 meters off-shore. The next day he found them on the beach, and 'they were sharper than before'...

Indeed, I was just about to say that!
Oh, and what about the safety lock & key? Invented in Mesopotamia, if I'm not mistaken...

A Lederhosen is a Kilt, is a Sarong, is a suit.
(What about traditional Chinese costumes? All made in China these days!)

*If you're so smart, why aren't you wearing Lederhosen?*

Is Interweb 2.0 where nostalgia ckicks in? "Remember that 2006 meme? That was SO cool! Let's declare it vintage and RE-cool it!"
Sorry dudes, but not so neat...

At least the cheaper outfits are bought to be worn, so the image of traditional outfits is being kept alive.
If there were only expensively tailored costumes, hardly anyone would wear them anymore, I suppose.

The man's a genius. But hey! Three words: Oxford, Eton, Cambridge.
Apart from being a 'goof' and a top actor, he's also a brilliant multi-intrument (jazz)musician, AND the world's best 'mouth-trombone' player!
(I could find only a small sample, but I've wittnessed him doing it many a-times, believe you me.)
You can see a brief example when you look for the Sophisticated Song on YouTube.

Here in The Netherlands, these road signs sometimes state "You Are Not Alone". Althought it probably means something like 'concider your fellow road users', the phrase comes acoross quite philosophical and a bit eerie, for that matter.
By the way, which movie was it again where such a road sign communicates 'wisdom' with the protagonist?
