SparkS 2's Comments

Along a similar vein Volvo advertisements tout some available features. An alarm sounds when you are going to drive into something. Another one if you are going to hit someone while changing lanes. I call those cars "Cars for Morons That Shouldn't be on the Road!".
One advertisement even shows some idiot doing something with an article on the passenger seat. The alarm goes off so they don't run into another car. The main idea about driving is to keep ones eyes on the road not be screwing around with something on the passenger seat. These cars are truly unbelievable!

The Mercedes idea is a valuable one.

2D "complained to an usher." What decade are you living in? I haven't seen an usher in a movie theater in a good 40 years, maybe 50.

I'm on the shooters side. He did mess up though by not aiming for the morons head.

liphttam1 It's a throwback from the early days of the internet. Is short for grins. I couldn't figure out what else you said.

Alex, Alex, Alex - I wasn't done yet. Now I am in a quandary. Do I post the rest of them here or on the forum? Choices, choices.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw this. It wasn't on your newsletter. Thank you very much kind sir.

There's one final bunch that I just sent to the forum.

Wait til I post my airplane pilots humor.
You think the military has a strange sense of humor. GGG

Casey at the Bat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Casey at the Bat", subtitled "A Ballad of the Republic Sung in the Year 1888", is a baseball poem written in 1888 by Ernest Thayer. First published in the San Francisco Examiner on June 3, 1888, it was later popularized by DeWolf Hopper in many vaudeville performances.

"When I was in the service, military messes and chow halls could only serve real butter. Don’t know if that’s still the case."

Some time while I was in the navy (66-86) I heard they were required by law to serve only butter. So it was still in effect til mid 60's at least.

Thank you for your service Paul.

(There is some federal law from 1886 regarding margarine and butter but I couldn't find anything definite and gave up. Not even sure if that's the one.)

Orjan Morjan, ted, Violet:

I stand by every word I wrote.

OM, Perhaps you need to take off your rose colored glasses. Since when is spewing lies considered a "good point"? Sorry, I'll never help someone tell bald faced lies. Especially when directed at me. I never said military service made a person more worthy. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't insinuate that I did. Violet is the one that denigrated all military members with the lies she spouted about them. I'm supposed to sit here and let her filth go by without calling her out. Sorry, it will never happen.

ted, I'm supposed to sit here and let some twit spit out lies about me and other military members. She's lucky I didn't tell her how I really felt.

violet, "measured, thoughtful, judicious personality", like your spewing total lies huh. Do as I say not as I do doesn't cut it. There's a huge difference between a mere disagreement and some low life spouting lie upon lie about something I and plenty of others hold dear. As I said "DON'T BE JEALOUS".

Geekazoid - Lighten up. Article never said it was paid late. It's legal in a lot of places to write a check on most anything.

Evilbeagle - Amen. It's kind of sad how we Americans forget our country was born out of protest.

"... Why does choosing to be in the military make you forever and always a special wonderful person who deserves extra crap?"

As a retired navy man I resent the Hell out of your comments! Neither I, nor you, know ANY military member that has that attitude. I won't waste my time asking you how much time you served your country. We both know the answer to that don't we freeloader.

"I’m not making a point about the military per se right now, but you know, there are lots of career paths that are at least as honorable."

Sure would have fooled me!

"If someone chose to be a chiropractor or a soup kitchen worker because they actually wanted to ease the suffering of others,"

Yet more crap, to use your word, from someone that obviously hates the military. For your information the U.S. military delivers millions upon millions of dollars of aid every year to ease the suffering of others all over the world. They do more good than you could ever imagine. And they don't do it for ingrates like you.

would we be expected to give them a free ride forever,

Another bald faced lie. Why do you hate the military so much? Could it be that they refused to accept such a classless jerk as you?

"or do this pseudo-canonization thing that goes on with military folks? Is it because you might die if you join the military? Seriously, I’m asking. Because liquor store clerks are at very high risk for violence as well, and we don’t have parades for them."

You make me want to retch. There is not ONE military person, past or present, that isn't a much better person than you could ever be. Don't be jealous!

"We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by." Will Rogers

(That will get her knickers in a wad!)

ola et al, Reminds me of the end of the movie The Enemy Below. Curt Jurgens the German Uboat skipper says to Robert Mitchum the US destroyer skipper something about he was suprised Mitchum tossed him the rope that saved his life. Mitchum replies that the next time he wouldn't. In one of my favorite scenes in a movie Jurgens looks Mitchum in the eye and says "I think you would".

My point? People that want to help someone will do it and not let this court case change the way they are.
