Ted's Comments

After posting, I did think about what Alex said in another post. And no, I usually don't follow every link.

It's just disappointing that there's been this trend to US politics and the Iraq war that is so polarizing the readers of Neatorama. This is obviously the most discussed topic, as shown by all the comments. That is disappointing to me, because you can see that anywhere. You can open the page of any newspaper and see the same cartoons, the same verbal attacks, the same condescending hyperbole from both sides of the issue. Why should I have to read it here? You're absolutely right, I don't.

I've been able to ignore other Neatorama things I don't find of interest, so I will try to stay out of this one.

Alex is fair at presenting the issue of politics, but so many of the comments are angry, insulting, and hateful. Do you folks really hate each other that much?

I don't get Neatorama's fascination with all the Bollywood stuff, but I have never had the impression that any of it was mean-spirited mockery. If something's bad, it's pretty much said so.

The parody is just lame, and yeah, the people certainly looked familiar with the words. The people in the parody didn't look like white Americans to me, so I doubt you could call it racism. I thought it was somebody in that same culture mocking the song.

I don't think you need to be a bigot to think a tattoo like that is pretty idiotic.
I'm sure job opportunities abound in Western culture for someone with a face like that. Perhaps a bone specialist..?
If not, he can always get a passport, board a plane, emigrate to another, more "accepting" country (is this ok in, say, China?), and get a job there.
They have circuses there, right?

This is why I like Neatorama - oh wait, no, this is why I'm getting sick of Neatorama.

Funny, it used to be a nice place to visit, too.

It's from the AD 400's, and it's in a technique not often seen, so it's bound to strike us as a little different from the Roman art we normally encounter.

It's getting more into early medieval.

Mars is amazing.

I've seen a couple of the Robot Chickens. The Family Guy girl voice is bothersome, I agree.

It's not the best show in the world, but it has its moments. This one was pretty cool. The Mario Bros one sucked.

I feel guilty about it, but it's hilarious.

You have to wonder about the guy in the field deliberately spooking the goats for no apparent reason.

If the comment bug you, don't read them.
Frankly, the whole Redp/Dem debate shows a little too much regional myopia on the part of Neatorama. There are other elections and political events happening throughout the world, and those don't get any press here at all.
I don't mind the political stuff so much, but you really should look beyond your own borders once in a while, and realize not every Neatorama reader cares what's going on with your politics.

The perfect example is when your comments show such intolerant comments from both sides of your incredibly polarized society.

Well, what do you know, an advertisement on the left side of the page for once.

It's kinda like product placement in a movie: ads right in the middle of the entertainment.

Did they not have colour film in the 16th century?
I suppose it would have looked less "artistic".
Seems to me the people doing the waxworks should get most of the credit. He just copied the lighting and shadow effects when taking the picture.
