Once again, the LA Times show just how out of touch they are.

Since we are giving tips, when I had to worry about how much I spent on food, I bought a bread maker and bulk ingredients. Excellent, fresh bread for $0.25 per pound.

Don't worry about police suspicion. At worst they will drop by for a look-see. The couple of times it has happened to me, I offered them a soda and bored them to tears describing my work.

My mother (a retired chemistry professor)has long bemoaned that the day of making significant discoveries in your basement chemistry lab is long gone. Now-a-days it takes isolation chambers and government grants.

You go girl! Prove her wrong.

As someone who lived through all of these, I beg to differ with the author. The Walkman was the iPod of its day. The Minidisk and Portable CD Player never were a hot thing. Polaroids rocked, CompuServe was just one of a number of online services that are now gone. The pager made millionaires. Betamax was just the first example of Sony thinking it could define the market. Neogeo never really had any market share. Projection televisions are still not a dead technology.

Very nicely done, but lacking in story arc and character development. 405-The Movie had it all and only took three months of post production. Branit has genius level skills, but story trumps special effects every time.

Having had to put more than one a pet on a crash diet, let me say that while it is difficult, it is better than watching the pet die.

Evil is behind this video, great evil.

At the furthest extension of the cord, your velocity is zero. For a moment, you are motionless over the water. If the cord breaks instead of pulling you back, it is no worse than a 25 foot dive.

Now, if it breaks right after you are launched back into the air ... well, I hope that your heirs own the video rights.

Damn, I can't wait for the day when I own one of those. Note the stair step approximation of a point that prevented the wood from splintering when the final point was formed. He is a great tech.
