...What a bizarre line of comments do we have here today...!
Well at least we haven't dissapeared into a black hole. So that poor Indian girl that took suicide in fear of the end of the world has died for nothing.
Pity that noone told her that that collider does not even reach the speeds that naturally occur when particles from outer space hit our planet's atmosphere.

Still----
Okay- April Fool's Day coming.
...Right?
Else----
If there really are fools, nutters and idiots that would want to spend that much cash on shredded clothing- Ten all the more glory to those who can cash in and all the more pity on those who have so much that they forget the real cost of a ripped shirt.........

Whatever these poachers have for economical reasons- They still behave criminally moronically stupid. Because they hunt these animals to extinction. And so they rid themselves of their own income. I mean, how stupid can you be?
So if now and then any of these endangered animals takes out a poacher, I say let them eat with good appetite!
...As far as I'm concerned- Serves them right.

As far as I understood, it would make sence to corellate human behavior with climatic changes.
If we humans developed in a warmer climate (zone), it would make sence to look for the development of clothing at a time where the climate would go under zero-Celcius i.e. an Ice-Age.
And it would be sensible not to thing that humanity as a whole would start to wear clothing at that same time. Only those humans that are confronted with cold conditions, would start to wear clothing. The whole rest would still go naked, just as some tribes in far-off areas still do.

This whole thing is about stereotypes that ring the hardes bell with the projected viewers.
Racist? Yes. There's a whole lot of that in advertising, if only because it is one of the easiest ways to spark attention to use long standing stereotypes.
This advertisement has a comic element in it, but Jules has a point that it is toe-curlingly shockingly racist and completely beside any historic cultural relevance if ever there could be one in this- Yes it is a cheap rip-off of the "Hitchhiker's-" because they knwew that that one has already prooved itself as succesfull. It that sidetracks the complete set of legends of the local people in who created that land. It even could be linked to the "landscaping" that was done for the LOTR-movies that seems to reverberate more than the far older local lore and stories.
But I still think it is tongue in cheek funny.

Funny- A "barker" (pistol) also is used in it's translation in Dutch- een "blaffer" for a pistol (Dutch - pistool) or revolver (Dutch- revolver) is still in use.

He's quiete a Master in that program.
I think he does in in that program because most of us discard MS Paint as just a cheap sketchbook pad that hasn't got nearly enough capacities to make such complicated renderings.
He shows that you actually can make difficult drawings in this simple program.
I started to use MS-Paint for simple technical drawings that don't require me to beg endlessly with my systems operator for an extra cad-program on our firm's network. He and my boss flatly refuse to buy such programs Why, they won't tell), so I am stuck on the only program available, being MS-Paint...
This guy is my Hero because he shows me that for the time being I can very well do with MS-Paint

I have understood that this show was part of a whole French documentary and that this whole thing was set up from the getgo as not just any other show on French tv, but only embedded in that documentary.
Funkycpaman just as are the Americans, the Iraqese, the Chinese or anyone else on this planet.
I wonder if those contestants got any after-care after that show. Because it would be psychologically quite devastating, unsettling and earthshattering to make such a discovery about oneself. What happens with you when you just discovered that you are just as guilty and weak and contemptible as all those warcriminals and sadists that you loathe and dissapprove of so much...?
These experiments do show that it can happen to anyone of us just as easily.
It is very easy to sit at the sideline and scream that they do it all wrong. But what about us? I wouldn't be so sure that I would do the rigt thing when I would be in such circumstances in reallife under pressure.....

And wouldn't you think that those German soldiers back in WW2 on the wintery cold plains of Russia wouldn't have tried that same trick just to get any warm food? Same goes for the Greeks that also use that weapon. Same goes for soldiers in the trenches of WW1.
Sure this could well be an American that put this trick on the Net, but he will not have been the 1st to think about this even by a long shot.
So bash Americans all you want, but then please do so equally with all those other users of machine guns...
