"Of course, all humans would guess different, but what 'AI' we've made so far is horrible at thinking like a human."
Actually, modeling the way a human guesses letters isn't difficult at all. It just needs to be slightly weighted towards more common letters with a lesser propensity to go for the uncommon ones.
@remf
"I don't think most kids will go the wheel of fortune route and start out with "RSTLNE" and then go from there."
Maybe not as a specific strategy, but those being very common letters, any bright kid will gravitate towards them anyways.

the best remedy for this sort of behavior isn't to appease or cater to the child. it's this kind of pandering that's populated the country with the new breed of narcissists. if your kid doesn't want to eat, so be it, he's not going to starve.

...Except that nobody used ANY of the words you list, and if you threw 'weird' into that list and we all played 'one of these things is not like the others', 'weird' would be that one thing.
If you are offended by being called 'weird', it is not the fault of the person who said it. You might as well get offended by the word 'man' or 'peanut butter'. Many feminists will get offended by the words 'chick', 'babe', hell some get offended by the word 'woman' and insist it be spelled 'womyn'.
It is our duty as decent human beings to make reasonable efforts to not offend others, but not at the cost of castrating the language. Beyond that, it's a measure of equality when people can talk frankly about formerly taboo subjects. Gays, transgender persons, Canadians - it doesn't matter - no group is above any other. If it's ok to say, as an opinion, that Canadians are weird (and i'm *pretty* sure that's an ok thing to say, regardless of its veracity - it's subjective, people) then it's ok to say crossdressing cosplayers are weird. Hell, 'weird' is pretty much the most innocuous thing you COULD say about them.

"To dress like a cartoon that you have some kind of sexual fetish for is just not right no matter how you look at it."
Care to explain what makes such a harmless act 'wrong'? or as you put it, 'not right'? Right and wrong are issues of ethics, not morals.

Thinking of someone and having them call you minutes later is weird.
Mixing wine and 7-up is weird.
Cosplayers are weird - crossdressing cosplayers are weirder.
None of these things are 'bad', and things that *are* bad that are *also* weird (having intercourse with a horse... of course of course) are usually called 'bad'. You wouldn't say a rapist is weird as a definitive statement. "Those rapists sure are weird". There's no vitriol or contempt in that statement despite the subject being something as inherently deplorable as a rapist.

used to work in a coffee joint, i remember someone ordered a 'macchiato', and my snarky coworker gave them one - that is, straight espresso poured through milk foam. girl was *not* happy.

Also: If transgender/crossdressers/homosexuals/minorities truly want equality, that means being held up to the same scrutiny as everyone else. You don't get to say that every bit of criticism is 'homophobic' (especially when no one said *anything* about homosexuals in the post) and therefor hateful and deplorable and invalid. "These dudes are weird. Look at these weird dudes."
That's *all* the post (here on N-o-R) says.

@ Everyone freaking out
I see nothing homophobic about this post. I see nothing disrespectful about this post. No one said anything about homosexuals, nor were any sweeping generalizations made about recreational cross dressers. The only editorializing done in the article is with the single word 'weird'. Well, guess what, cross-dressing cosplayers ARE weird.
"Weird: of strange or extraordinary character"
"Weird" isn't a put-down any more than 'remarkable' is. It simply means 'uncommon'. Grow up, there's no hate here no matter how hard you try to find it.

The only stuff I trust is the super expensive hippy-food store oil. $18 for 6oz but it's California grown and the label gives the name of the orchard and the season of harvest, much like fine wine.

As an Engineer, I can tell you that the number one thing we value is management that's willing to concede that they don't know as much as we do and who won't presume to mutilate projects through their ignorance.
Too often fidgety management seems to feel like they ought to be *doing* something. "Helping", in their minds. Don't. We got it. That one *little* thing you want to change for no reason beyond whimsy? It's not little when I have to redo the models and the drawings and lag the machine shop who just got done doing the tooling. And that's not even considering how many other issues your *little* addition is creating inadvertently that now have to be addressed. So, while I know it bruises your already ropey ego, shut up, go away, and let me do my job. Don't you have a report to file or something?

i think this is mostly a problem in automatics, where the brake pedal is huge but kind of far away from the accelerator pedal. in a *proper* car, the brake and gas are very close together, and switching between them quickly is trivial. and with this design, it seems that you'd constantly be cutting gas on accident, which if you're in a corner is one of the most dangerous things you can do. next time you come up to a nice windy corner, put the car in neutral and see how well it handles compared to powering through. i've had some scary incidences where i missed a shift and plowed into a corner unpowered. screeching and swerving and fishtailing ensued.

yeah the masterlock trick is quite handy, and easy to memorize, too.
rotate dial while pulling on shackle, it will catch on like 5 or 6 numbers. all of them will end in the same digit except for one of them. this is the last number of the combination, and all ML combos are either all odd or all even.
from there one can eliminate morepossible combos, because not only are all ML combos even or odd, they're done in alternating sets of those numbers. this is so you can't have the same number twice in a row in a combo. so if the last number is 27, then the second number cannot be 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, or 27 etc, it will only be 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29 etc, and since the first number cannot be the same as the second, then it must be 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, or 17 etc
with this the number of combos is reduced to 100 (or so?) which one can run through in about 5 minutes.
