Courageous Grace's Comments

I have a complaint about the one concerning candy leftover from previous holidays. Since when do candy canes go bad? I have candy canes that I put up on my tree every year that I bought over five years ago. I eat a few every year and just rehang the ones that didn't get eaten or given away each year.

Once I heard that the sober driver tends to tense when they see an unavoidable accident. The tension and rigidity in their body makes them less likely to "roll" with the flow of motion in an accident. Don't remember where I heard that from and I could be very wrong but it seems to make sense.

I see it's been said before but I'm chiming in anyway. There is a whole world of difference between love and approval.

I love my child. I will love him no matter what he does in life. I have loved him since I first found out I was pregnant.

Sometimes I don't like his behavior very much though. When he messes up his room with the contents of his diaper (he's 20 months old) I really don't like it. I don't approve of behavior like that. But does that make me love him any less?

HELL NO!

Methinks people who write articles like this need to go out and buy a dictionary before they make themselves look like complete idiots.

My wedding five years ago was fairly inexpensive and did not put us in debt. It was held in our church (no cost to us), my MIL paid for my dress, flowers, and photographer, we paid the church $50 to use the parish hall for the reception. No alcohol, no dj, a friend from church provided catering, the cake was made by a local mom and pop bakery. We would tell people where we were registered if they asked, but didn't push it on anyone.

The best gifts we received were handmade personalized gifts, and the presence of my family from across the country (I paid their plane tickets out of pocket).

To this day all of our friends say our wedding was the most memorable and fun wedding they've ever been in or to.

Simple = better.

Hubby and I switched from a full size bed (the two of us and a cat do not a comfortable sleeping arrangement make on a full size bed) to a king and I am quite pleased! I think the king offers the convenience of being able to cuddle or enjoy a rambunctious bout of marital union while giving us each the opportunity to sleep far enough away from each other that we don't bother the other one.

Wow....if someone tried to do that to my son I'd rip him a new one.

I'm fairly lucky that my son (almost 20 months) is normally a very even-tempered and quiet child, but even he has his moments and will throw a tantrum. If I'm in an area with a lot of people, I'll try to get to a fairly secluded spot (or parking lot) and let him cry out his tantrum. Trying to hush him only makes it last longer. With most toddlers, if you *ignore* the tantrum they usually realize fairly quickly that they're not getting what they want and stop. After all, a tantrum is almost always just a tool that children use to get attention. Sometimes I'll just try to distract him and that usually works.

I tried to "fake" throwing a ball past my 18 month old son tonight. It didn't work. He turned to me with a look like "what on earth are you trying to do, Mom? It's still in your hands." I have yet to meet a dog that doesn't fall for it.

A doctor has the right to refuse to give ANY prescription, not just birth control. If a doctor believes that a medicine could be harmful to someone they can refuse to prescribe it even if the patient demands it.

I'm definitely not the type to yell "fake" but my BS meter on this one is going off. I'd like to see an actual news story reported on this rather than some anonymous poster on a forum before I take something like this seriously. The poster doesn't say the name of the school, the city, state or even country of the school, and she seems to have an excuse for every question raised.

Before my pregnancy, I was a 34DD. I have had numerous back problems and get black eyes when I run no matter how good my bra is ;). And pregnancy causes them to get even BIGGER. My son is 15 months old now and my cup size has still not receded all the way to its pre-pregnancy size.

If I were ever to get breast surgery it would be to reduce the size.
