Nizaam Alexander, a police officer in Cape Town, South Africa, is not one to let a little annoyance like getting shot in the back distract him from his duties. If he pulls over a driver for a traffic violation, that driver is getting a ticket.
The entire incident was caught on Officer Alexander's car's dashboard camera. He pulled over a driver. While talking to him, another man passing by pulled out his gun and tried to rob Alexander. The officer tried to flee, but the man shot him in the back.
Alexander returned fire and called for backup. What happened to the assailant is unclear from current news reports. But Officer Alexander promptly finished writing a ticket for the driver (auto-start video). Then he went to the hospital for treatment.
