Rarely Seen Photos From The Woodstock Music & Art Fair

It's hard to believe the Woodstock Music & Art Fair happened nearly 50 years ago considering its influence can still be seen at outdoor music festivals like Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza.

Woodstock showed the live music loving world that hundreds of thousands of people could gather at an outdoor music festival without food, water or proper bathroom facilities and survive to tell the tale.

But it also taught concert promoters what not to do, and even though Woodstock 1999 was a total disaster it would have been far worse without the lessons taught by Woodstock '69.

These rarely seen photos taken by LIFE photographer John Dominis reveal those three days of madness in glorious color, shedding some light on all the other stuff that was going on while the flower children danced on sunshine.

The Simplest And Most Effective Ways To Climb A Rope

I'm not sure whether kids are still forced to climb ropes in gym class these days but back when I was a youngster the rope climb was one of the most dreaded activities in the gymnasium.

There were always a couple of cocky kids who could climb the rope like nobody's business while the rest of us struggled to get off the ground.

Turns out we just needed to learn a few tricks involving our feet and we would have been able to climb that rope like a champ too!

Parkour master Ryan Ford demonstrates the easiest way to climb a rope (the leg-wrap technique) as well as a more advanced technique (fast rope) and a few exercises to get your upper body in shape for the climb.

Every geek who has watched an episode from the Dragon Ball franchise wonders what it would be like to find a dragon ball and unleash our inner Saiyan.

Sadly, dragon balls don't really exist, so if we want to devour the power of a dragon ball we must make our own, preferably out of Jell-O!

Aggressive Comix shared the full easy to make recipe for orange Jell-O Dragon Balls with cherry stars here, now if you'll excuse me I'm off to buy some ice spheres!

Eagle Tries To Carry Off Boy At Bird Of Prey Show

Attend a bird of prey show and you expect to see magnificent animals stretching out their wings and snatching up prey for the sake of human amusement.

Spectators might even get hit in the face with a wing, or get a scare when a bird comes flying towards their head, but nobody expects to see a bird trying to take off with one of their kids.

But that's what happened at the Alice Springs Desert Park in Central Australia- a wedge-tailed eagle swooped down and sunk his claws into the head of a boy wearing a green hoodie, acting like he wanted to carry the kid off.

The eagle looked a bit confused about the situation as well afterwards, and witnesses say the boy was playing with his zipper during the show, which may have initiated the attack.

The Science Behind The "Stringless" Yo-Yo

"Stringless" and "Yo-Yo" are two words you don't expect to see together because a Yo-Yo without a string is just a giant plastic spool cast in flashy colors.

But Yo-Yo wizard Ben Conde can do some amazing aerial tricks with his "stringless" Yo-Yo, proving the string doesn't need to be attached for a Yo-Yo to function in spectacular fashion.

This enlightening video by Veritasium reveals the secret behind the incredible tricks you can do with a stringless Yo-Yo- friction!

The Leonardo DiCaprio Guide To Living A Carefree Life

Leonardo DiCaprio may have only recently become an Oscar winner, but he has been one of the coolest characters on the Hollywood scene since he started acting as a kid.

He's always emitting this air of confidence and lighthearted ease, with a bratty smirk on his face and eyes that refuse to look away no matter what sort of horror they're exposed to.

(Image Link)

It's like Leo was born without any f%@ks to give because he doesn't care about unimportant things like celebrity competition, photos posted on social media or high fashion.

We can learn a lot from Leo about living a carefree life, and you don't have to be rich to live like Mr. DiCaprio- you just have to make sure no man, woman or sinking ship stands in the way of you and your cookies.

Defiant Militaristic Chinese Video Goes Viral - "Who Cares?"

The Japanese have mastered the art of strangeness and therefore go gonzo on purpose, but the Chinese take their goofy videos very seriously and don't see why people think they're funny.

What's so funny about two cute teen girls in military uniforms with combat knives or a guy wearing a giant bear mascot head saying "Who Cares?"

Trust me, it's strangely funny, although it's meant to be aggressive posturing so don't let them know their wacky video made you LOL.

The video was created by the Chinese Communist Party Youth League in response to the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling against China's claims to the resources found in the South China Sea.

What does all that mean? Who cares!

These Hilarious Presidential Campaign Signs Should Win The 2016 Election

When an election year rolls around lawns and fences across the country start sprouting campaign signs, because presidential candidates think this crappy advertising tactic still works.

But voters know better than to vote for somebody just because their name appears on a plastic board littering a lawn, which is why this diabolical double billing will never be voted into office.

Well that, and the fact that one of these two characters are fictional, can you guess which one?

The 2016 presidential election is shaping up to be a diabolical dilemma, forcing voters to decide which candidate is the lesser of two evils, so maybe we should just vote for this guy instead?

This Smart Little Puppy Gives Himself A Bath Every Day

It's rare to come across a dog who actually likes to take a bath, and even rarer to find a dog who doesn't immediately run outside and roll in the dirt after getting clean.

But Brady the golden retriever is such a clean freak he gives himself a bath every day, then Brady wraps himself in a towel afterwards rather than shaking water everywhere like a cur.

(YouTube Link)

Brady's humans should hire him out so he can teach other dogs the value of bathing regularly!

Go And Catch Them All, But Be Careful While Playing Pokémon Go

(Image Link)

Pokémon Go has brought lots of good things to the world of mobile gaming, bringing real life trainers together like no Pokémon product ever could, but along with the good there is always the bad.

(Image Link)

In St. Louis, Missouri, robbers set up a beacon at a PokéStop then proceeded to rob any players who responded to the signal at gunpoint, effectively using Pokémon Go to bring victims their way.

(Image Link)

In Wyoming a 19-year-old girl stumbled upon a dead body while playing Pokémon Go near the Highway 789 Bridge, leaving her with some new memory scars but zero water type Pokémon.

“I probably would have never went down there if it weren’t for [Pokémon Go],” 19-year-old Shayla Wiggins said. “But in a way, I’m thankful. I feel like I helped find his body. He could have been there for days.”

(Image Link)

And staff at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. are asking players to be respectful and stay out of the building while hunting Pokémon, because duh.

But what's worse- someone reportedly caught the poisonous gas type Pokémon called Koffing inside the museum, although the image has since been removed from Imgur.

So go, catch 'em all and meet your fellow trainers in the wild, but be safe, stay aware and make sure you don't get caught in a Team Rocket style trap!

Margot Robbie Defines 50 Australian Slang Terms In Under 4 Minutes

Margot Robbie had to ditch her Australian accent while playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, but that doesn't mean she has lost touch with her Aussie roots.

She's still every bit the authority on all things Australian that she was before becoming Harley, and one aspect of Australian society which she has truly mastered is the art of Aussie slang.

Here she is demonstrating her laudable knowledge of linguistic lore by defining 50 Australian Slang Terms In Under 4 Minutes for Vanity Fair.

(YouTube Link)

It's ironic Margot didn't know what "doovalacky" meant considering (according to a Google search) it's a word used when you can't remember the name of something...no worries, Miss Robbie, you still proved you're a Fair Dinkum Aussie!

Photographer Creates Long Exposure Shots Of Entire Movies

Long exposure shots can light up the night, track motion with trails and reveal all that happens in front of the lens while it's left wide open, creating a single frame record of time passed.

But what happens when you create a long exposure shot of an entire movie?

You get a ghostly image representing how long the actors and the sets appeared in the film, as well as an overall feel for the color palette used in the film.

The image directly above is Alfred Hitchcock's classic Rear Window, and as you can see Jimmy Stewart spent so much time on-screen in the film you can actually make him out in a long exposure shot.

On the other hand, the image at the top of the post is from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and while you can make out parts of the set and a few ghostly silhouettes the shot doesn't say much about the cast.

Photographer Jason Shulman captures the feel of his favorite flicks with these ethereal long exposure shots, and once you start staring at them it's hard to look away!

Epic Trailer For Dan Harmon's New Animated Series HarmonQuest

Dan Harmon has taken us back to community college, to the far reaches of the Rickstaverse and he even brought historical figures back to life just to give us a history lesson.

And now Dan is set to take us somewhere that is simultaneously really old and really new- the dark, monster infested depths of a tabletop RPG dungeon. (NSFW due to language)

(YouTube Link)

HarmonQuest is an awesome new animated series adapted from actual Pathfinder RPG sessions Dan and funny friends such as Aubrey Plaza, Chelsea Peretti, Ron Funches and Paul F. Tompkins played out in front of a studio audience on Dan's Harmontown podcast.

The 10 episode first season will premiere on Seeso on July 14th, when it will prove comedians don't make the greatest tabletop RPG players, but they definitely make the game more fun!

A Harry Potter Style Yo Momma Joke Battle

The guys and gals who attend Hogwart's School of Wizardry have to find ways to blow off steam in-between lessons and their constant battle against the dark side of the magical arts.

Some like to get stinking drunk on Firewhisky, others train tirelessly for Quidditch tournaments and magical duels, but the most popular pastime of all is the Yo Momma joke battle.

A finely crafted zinger aimed at an opponent's unwitting mother can be more damaging than a spell, and leave a nastier mark than the one old Voldy left on Harry's head.

It's fine for the students at Hogwart's to pass the time bagging on each other via Yo Momma jokes, but leave Harry and Neville out of it because talkin' smack about their mommas is just plain mean!
