Wonderful for her! Older people are plenty capable of learning to use new technologies. One reason they often don't is because they don't see a big payoff for the hassle of learning it. This lady most likely has no use for instant messaging or forums or Chatroulette, but adjustable font size helps her to do the exact things she loves and missed. This is why the Kindle is so popular with older people, and if you can learn to use a Kindle, you can learn to use a computer. I hope Virginia can write lots more poetry.
My kids would love to go to work with me, since I stay home myself and surf the net! Besides, they see what I do all the time. I just get so much more DONE when they are at school!
I had to go look because I wondered what they defined as a "committed relationship". Is that something MORE than marriage, like married people who don't plan to get a divorce? Or is it people who say they are committed, but not quite enough to get married?

How is it offensive to point out that someone considered freakishly fat in the past would not be considered a freak today? I don't hate fat people. I know lots of people over 400 pounds, which makes it seem weird that it was once so unusual.
